Do we know what happened to Sanchez?

I saw on twitter Sanchez (I presume that is Aaron you are talking about) is on 7 day DL.

BTW Carreno had 5K in 1.2ip last night. 42:8 K:BB. Maybe he should be the next member of the bullpen?

Yip. I have Carreno ripping up the prospect charts.

I remember thinking during Spring Training that we would never have to use a guy like Carreno in our rotation again, thanks to all the new depth.

Now we're using Ramon Ortiz, worst SP in the AL.

Same here....I was wondering what would happen if Hutchison ever came back, thought he wouldn't have a place to play.

Requests for info going unanswered = season over

Or it could mean nothing. Who knows what kind of priority requests from BlueBird Banter get. If the request were coming from Shi, it would find the silence a lot more worrisome although the not-knowing is certainly worrisome in itself.

Oh, I misread it, I thought the request came from Davidi. Okay, that's a lot less worrying.

@Jared_Macdonald: Just saw Justin Jackson as a reliever for the first time. Sat 93 w/FB, touched 96 on final pitch for swinging SO.

Why did we call him up to MLB after only one High A start

IMO he should have worked his way up. Completely f***ed that up

Good going AA

Did the same thing with Lawrie and he's never gotten going. I really hope they don't call up Nolin, let him have a few more starts and then promote him to Buffalo, develop him.

Lawrie?

What I meant was that Lawrie needed more at-bats as he only played 2 games in Dunedin. I know it's not the same situation as Romero, but it was a desperate move.

2009 he played 105 games in Midwest league for milwaukee

2010 played 135 games in AA for Milwaukee

Trade to jays

Played 69 games in AAA, where he tore it up of course and then I believe he had a wrist injury which set him back

I meant this year after he missed most of ST and then went on a rehab assignment to Dunedin, but was recalled after playing in 2 games for Dunedin because the team was stinking it up both defensively and offensively.

Anyway, forget about it.

AA must be in denial... how are Blank-O and Boni still on this team?

They've been given promises.

AA doesn't break a promise, it's bad PR and will result in an inability to ever sign a free agent again. Or so he thinks.

running a losing team out there night after night because you dont have the balls or brains to do what needs to be done will stop more players from coming than cutting ties with bad players will

Batter's Box with their annual extended spring training report for the Blue Jays.

http://www.battersbox.ca/article.php?story=20130520184953176

Mitch Nay

Nay was the most impressive hitter in camp. He had consistently good at-bats. I saw him double over the centre fielders head off Ivan Nova in a Yankee game. I saw him wait on and drive a curveball. Nay is a big guy, probably 6'2" or 6'3". He is an average runner.

Nay's grandfather played in the major leagues. Lou Klimchock played parts of 12 years in the majors, from age 18 to 30. He has been coaching and throwing BP with Mitch since he was 4 years old. With his guidance he thinks Mitch is ready for the professional life and knows what to expect.

More reports at the link.

Barreto is a short but powerfully built shortstop. I saw him triple off the CF wall against the Yankees leading off the game. He is fast and appears to be a true shortstop. Barreto is either 16 or 17 so he looks good for his age.

This goes against everything Angrioter's ever said about Barreto, lol.
