Laika Community Moderator Posted February 15, 2016 Author Posted February 15, 2016 Email was much appreciated, I didn't realize I was up so soon. Picked Coors Reynolds. Emailed jaysblue and emailed FTD to let him know he expired.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 Whoops mb guys I didn't realize I was on the clock. Making my pick shortly.
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 This feels like how I imagine everything runs in the FC. A bunch of confused old guys missing 12-hour windows.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 This feels like how I imagine everything runs in the FC. A bunch of confused old guys missing 12-hour windows. With clocks frozen between 3-5 PM to accomodate for dinner.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 15, 2016 Author Posted February 15, 2016 This feels like how I imagine everything runs in the FC. A bunch of confused old guys missing 12-hour windows. We've never had a draft with this much people who ostensibly don't GAF. Hence the new rule. I should also state that with the new rule, notification goes from "encouraged" to "extremely encouraged". Also, any form of email, message board PM, or ProBoards PM should suffice. It's your fault if that thing isn't linked to your email account.

z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 this draft just seems to have even less talent than our normal waiver drafts. Pretty yuck in the player pool
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 lol I would know cuz I'm the champ.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 this draft just seems to have even less talent than our normal waiver drafts. Pretty yuck in the player pool The truth is none of us really knows what the f*** we're doing anyway. At this point in last year's waiver draft, Justin Turner hadn't even been selected yet.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 this draft just seems to have even less talent than our normal waiver drafts. Pretty yuck in the player pool a) There might have been a more effective re-distribution of talent pre-draft that in year's past but not dramatically so. There are always some players kept that aren't as good as some of the cuts. I think there is still some fallout from last year's strong rookie class. A lot of good MLB players seem to be sitting in the farm teams because they are still under the activation thresholds. Because of that, I think we might be drafting a bit further down the depth chart than we usually do especially as concerns position players. c) This league drafts minor leaguers really well. Not a of good AA talent or AAA talent slips through the cracks of the previous draft to provide more options for this one. Whatever we miss usually doesn't make the Yahoo! pool anyways. That being said the waiver draft is never great. It's just about ticking boxes. You're basically drafting strictly for need from at least the 2nd round if not the mid 1st. If someone frustrated by the lack to talent than you might be trying too hard to find a diamond in the rough that just plain ain't there and making it harder than it is.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 hey KK, sent you a PB message. Just in case it didn't email you (I've been having issues with it emailing me consistently)
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 I've been having issues with it emailing me consistently. Me too. It's pretty frustrating.
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 The truth is none of us really knows what the f*** we're doing anyway. At this point in last year's waiver draft, Justin Turner hadn't even been selected yet. He was picked late, then dropped in April. I think I snagged him from free agency in May.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 hey KK, sent you a PB message. Just in case it didn't email you (I've been having issues with it emailing me consistently) What you're proposing is reasonable. I'll quibble with you a bit about the secondary piece when I get a chance. Might not be until tomorrow or Wednesday.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 15, 2016 Author Posted February 15, 2016 hey KK, sent you a PB message. Just in case it didn't email you (I've been having issues with it emailing me consistently) PB made me change my email earlier because it said it no longer works well with Yahoo email addresses. Maybe that's the issue.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 That's great but we still need to sort out my problem. Whoever entered the picks flipped mine and SG's and correction is needed on the MiLB picks for this summer's draft. That was me. I had assumed that pick order went by regular season record, not playoff finish.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 PB made me change my email earlier because it said it no longer works well with Yahoo email addresses. Maybe that's the issue. Tied to my Gmail but I checked my notifications and they seemed to have been overwritten at some point. I changed my thread notification from "smart" (whatever that means) to "instant" and my pm setting from "never" to "instant".
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 yeah I changed my to instant too a while ago, but it still doesn't seem to get through every time. I think the real thing we should do is convince Juiced to make this boards PM's work the same was as the PBs. The thread-style of PM is soooooooo much better than the 'quote' style response.

The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 That was me. I had assumed that pick order went by regular season record, not playoff finish. So what you're saying is that the picks will have to stay the way they are then?
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 So what you're saying is that the picks will have to stay the way they are then? No, I'm saying I made a mistake in my assigning of picks. I just assumed that the order would be determined that way because...some other league does it that way and also it made more sense to me so I failed to look it up. My bad.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 15, 2016 Author Posted February 15, 2016 Email was much appreciated, I didn't realize I was up so soon. Picked Coors Reynolds. Emailed jaysblue and emailed FTD to let him know he expired. Anybody PM jaysblue? Yee

I take full responsibility. I should have assumed that you were dumn and checked your work.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 I take full responsibility. I should have assumed that you were dumn and checked your work. The ironic thing is that it was harder to assign picks the way I did it. Who knew I should have just taken the easy route?
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 Took Robbie Erlin. Feeling totally despaired. Sent Silvergun an e-mail on Yahoo.

But what are we going to do? A lot of picks have been traded that would have been involved in this messup. Including waiver picks that have already been made. I feel it just makes the most sense to keep it the way it is for this year.
