Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 I'd be curious to know Boxy's endgame on this deal. Planning on competing next year? Or planning to flip him for a bigger haul when he's healthy?
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Berrios has a 65 FV on his fastball, 60 curve and then two other plus pitches. Those numbers are in pesos. Converts to Bullpen He's also not 21 yet. So naive young Boxy

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Those numbers are in pesos. Converts to Bullpen So naive young Boxy Your "f*** prospects" approach has done wonders for your big league team.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 That's a nice get for an injured player, good deal for both of you fekkers!
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 hahah I totally didn't realize I traded your boy Matz to arch nemesis BTS. That makes this trade even better, cheering for him is gonna be pretty awkward eh?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 What's all this then? Waino for Meadows and Matz
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Waino for Meadows and Matz Meadows and Matz ain't bad. I think I like that side.
TRM Verified Member Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Boxy and I just closed our second deal in as many weeks: To Min: AJ "Michael Brantley" Pollock Pat Neshek To Boxy: Mark Appel
TRM Verified Member Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 In a roundabout way this also closes my deal with North from March, and I know this will interest him so I'll share it. Hanley Ramirez was swapped for Cueto, Pollock and Neshek
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Not a fan of Appel, so I like the Pollock side of the deal.
TRM Verified Member Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 I think I may have been able to do a bit more with Appel, but it fills two roles for my team this year so I went for it. I needed an everyday CF (and I do think Pollock is due to take the next step this year) and I needed a Holds guy and Neshek looks like he's gonna be one of the best this year.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Really? I think you did damn well. Confusing move for Boxy, was the one competent hitter making everyone else self conscious? What's confusing about it?
TRM Verified Member Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Really? I think you did damn well. Confusing move for Boxy, was the one competent hitter making everyone else self conscious? I think I did great for him in terms of standalone value, but what I mean is that he was a piece I probably could have packaged up for a really big piece, had I chose to go in that direction.

Having discussed Appel with people in the LOD... I don't think he carries that kind of value.
TRM Verified Member Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Haven't discussed Appel with people in the LOD... I don't think he carries that kind of value. You might be right. Boxy was a fan of him though, the conversation actually started with me trying to sell Bailey. Speaking of Bailey, if anyone who is playing for next year wants to swap him for a pitcher who actually plays this year or a SS perhaps, get in touch.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Well u c, trading your lone competent hitter for yet another prospect confused me, as did why you'd trade Pollock without shopping him, allowing TRM to surprise-sex you value wise. Crystal? I think you may simultaneously overrate Pollock and underrate Appel.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 I can't really see that trade as a big win for either side. Pollock is a league average OF, the CF elig is nice if you need it. Seems like reasonable value to me.
TRM Verified Member Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 To those who PM'd me on Bailey, I'm going out now for the night to watch the fight but will get back to you sometime tomorrow.
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 3, 2015 Author Posted May 3, 2015 Scherzer may be on the move soon if anyone wants to sneak in an offer and potentially snipe him
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 Werth + 41st overall for A-Rod + Snell.
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 3, 2015 Author Posted May 3, 2015 Lol talk about a sell low buy high
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 Is it? I'm too classy a fella to slander Werth but ARod sure didn't babip-******** his way through april, his line @ 3B is an aphrodisiac even with expected regression. Although he's almost 40 so his hip probably explodes tomorrow. Thank you for teaching me we can hyperlink on this forum
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 I was enjoying A-Rod's resurgence. silvergun ruins everything. I wonder who you'll acquire for 3B next year? (I realize that I'm on shaky ground with this comment while rostering Headley)
TRM Verified Member Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 Like this more for FTD, but I must admit I'm very uninformed about Snell so take what I say with a grain of salt. While we're discussing FTD, at what point do we write the obituary for this once proud franchise?

(I realize that I'm on shaky ground with this comment while rostering Headley) My early money is on one of Martin Prado, Josh Harrison or Brett Lawrie.
