NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 You did? Yep, involving was Kendrick and a lot of other moving pieces. Didn't get much traction.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Probably asked for Tulo or something else I'm assuming
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Howie Kendrick is still in a THB uniform. Howie is disappointed that his name is out there right now. I can confirm, he is part of the Triple Hawpe Brewed organization. He's a big part to our beer lineup.
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 So, deal or no deal? What's going on?
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 3, 2014 Author Posted June 3, 2014 Sick of the f***ing lies in this league.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 It's not a lie if we know the truth.
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 s*** just got real. Our first league drama!
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 s*** just got real. Our first league drama! Is this connorp/king 2.0?
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 s*** just got real. Our first league drama! Not really, don't know why Spanky splurged on the boards that a deal was finalized.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 I don't see everyone telling them to back out of the deal if it's not yet official. Very disappointed.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 3, 2014 Author Posted June 3, 2014 Spanky just Ricciardi'd himself? (Lincecum-Rios). Don't let it slip until it's official.... dude
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 According to Ken Rosenthal, all that is holding up a potential deal is RP Daniel Webb or 2B Nick Franklin. The THB asked for Aaron Sanchez originally as the main piece, though nothing was confirmed officially by the team. Also, the fact that the deal got leaked into the media when the trade was not finalized did not sit in favour with SS. "We like to do things in secret since stories like these can get out there in the media and then prevent a deal from happening," said SS, the general manager of THB. "I think we were close in getting something done, though it got leaked on the boards and on Twitter before things were ever finalized." The THB have suffered numerous injuries to key players over the last week which has led to a fall in the standings, prompting the team to retool for 2015. Players such as Howie Kendrick, Kyle Lohse, Mike Napoli, Carlos Beltran, Mark Teixeira and others are likely candidates to be moved prior to the trade deadline. The team has garnered numerous interest in star shortstop Troy Tulowitzki, though according to sources a team has to "overpay" in order to land the star shortstop. "They likely keep Tulo. I don't see them moving him since they view him as part of their main core with Freddie Freeman, Nolan Arenado and Will Myers," according to one baseball executive.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 4, 2014 Author Posted June 4, 2014 Daniel f***ing Webb is a transaction deal breaker? Really?
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I can't even imagine squabbling over a middle reliever when making a trade.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Daniel Webb was the second piece of the Jason Frasor trade lol. He throws hard, but that's about it.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I've got Kevin Correia available for a 2nd. Unless I dropped him.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I hate the Mets/White Sox closer situations, so many freaking options. Do you mean Indians/WhiteSox? Mets' job is Mejia's now.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Also the Astros. But they don't win anyway so they probably don't need one.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 4, 2014 Author Posted June 4, 2014 Calling up Stroman, cutting Jairo Beras officially. Still need to cut one of Anthony Ranaudo, Manuel Margot, or pick 97. Not sure which is the least valuable.
TRM Verified Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Can someone sparknotes this for me. I'm late to the party and this seems AMAZING.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 So what happens with Butler starting on Friday? http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/06/03/rockies-calling-up-pitching-prospect-eddie-butler/ I assume this takes him right out of the draft?
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Butler's been on boxy's team for a while

Boxy took him in the waiver draft! He was one of the few waiver guys worth caring about (pitched in AA last year, so was eligible).
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Silvergun and I trade closers and picks. To him; Rodney, Pick 29 To me; Balfour, Pick 17
Never mind got Butler mixed up with someone else. Butler went in the waiver draft (or whatever that's called).
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Butler's been on boxy's team for a while We had a really long discussion about some guy who was not in AA yet but was in the pool and undrafted and I got that mixed up with Butler. Maybe it was Herrera (who sucks now anyways).
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Confirmed and proposed. Hopefully Balfour rights the ship, man he was bad for me. Hopefully he does do well. I will likely try to flip him to one of your competitors if he does... so sorry about that
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 It's not, I just like the term "market inefficiency." I like to think I'm Billy Beane. If one or two picks get dissolved, okay. The last-rounders were acquired as throw-ins to already-acceptable trades. I won't lose sleep over it. I may have a few tricks up my sleeve though. Cut-down isn't until Saturday! Please never quit this board.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I suppose I have to do my cutdown tonight? f*** it...I'll bring my laptop to the pool. It will hide my pastiness.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 PS. Silvergun, my issue with trading Soriano has nothing to do with fear of anything. I plan to compete again next year (I don't think I can dig my way out of the hole I ended up in early this year). I don't want to pay a premium for a closer as I'll be searching for 8th not first...a few saves might be what I need. Too many times people get into this full rebuild mode. I did it far too much in Fantasy Challenge. I just pretty much stopped dealing vets last year and now I'm sitting in a position where I can compete with anyone but the big two. My only goal once I had my bad start this year was to deal from strengths and get younger. I did that.
