BTW I just created a new league in Fantrax, and under Rosters -> Positions there's an option for injured reserve enforcement type. If you set the Number of Lineup Periods until Injured Reserve Enforcement takes effect to 0, you don't need a premium league to enforce IR activation.

Also noteworthy: you can set it so that a team who doesn't meet its pitching minimums only punts rate stats (OBPA, K/BB) instead of all 7 pitching cats.

The minor league eligibility options are interesting. We could allow minor leaguers to be sent back down to the farm only if they still met our custom eligibility criteria. That's a premium feature though.

Have either of you guys figured figured out how to make it so adds only process for the next day?

No, I only created a quick league to check the settings, then deleted it. The biggest issue I can see though, is that we can't have both MiLB and Waiver drafts tracked. We could move to just keeping 25 players though and only having the MiLB draft, or we could combine the waiver and MiLB drafts into one.

So is trading season back open?

I'm open to moving pretty near anyone this offseason. Top of my wish list is a 2B. Ideally I'd like to make a 2 for 1 or similar deal, or move a roster guy or 2 for prospects.

Kike or Mondesi are available if either interests you.

Or track the waiver picks separately.

Yeah, although if the idea is to get rid of the overhead, it would be nice to get rid of all of it.

I actually think I like the idea of a combined draft.

Mondesi isn't 2B next year. And currently aiming higher than Kike. Need an upgrade on Odor.

Huh, for some reason I thought Mondesi had been playing some 2nd this year. Sorry about that. As for Odor, ANYONE is an upgrade over not having to see his name on your roster :)

Waiver picks aren't moved too often. Not a huge deal.

Though, we could revisit combining both drafts* oops

I think combining the drafts is interesting, but for BORED I’d track them separately at least in 2020. As you say, they’re rarely traded, and I want any migration to have as few rule changes as possible to help the malcontents swallow the change.

The biggest potential adjustment I see is that I’m not 100% sure you can delay adds to the following day. I’ve asked Fantrax customer support how/if it can be done.

I think I saw the option but I'll look again later.

What we would probably do as an adaptation is just have a waiver day, where the free agent players are all on waivers set to process on a specific day. Waiver priority would be reset at the end of the season to the inverse of the final standings. At the conclusion of the waiver day, we'd just reset waiver priority to the inverse of the standings again. So in effect the 5 round waiver draft would just become one waiver period. Owners could trade their general priority but not specific picks - they could, however, negotiate in advance for specific players (ex., if you land Kikuchi Jr. 2nd in the waiver period I'll give you Nuke Laloosh for him). With multiple claims, the teams with the highest priorities might end up landing multiple players at the waiver time. The rest of the 25 man rosters would just be filled out when free agency opens, rather than with rounds 3-5 of the current waiver draft (which are pretty meaningless if we are being honest).

I feel combining the drafts is a terrible idea. It only works in LOD because we keep our full roster. We need our Summer prospect draft.

You have to pick the form of enforcement as "lock all transactions" and then the period delay as 0.

In other words, if someone loses a red flag you can't even edit your lineup for that day unless you remove them.

Yeah, noticed that earlier. I guess with the free league there are two options:

- Let the DL size limit be the control on people leaving guys on the DL past the point where they're activated, with maybe some allowance for a commish to intervene in cases of clear tanking.

- Use same-day transactions like we do in LoD, in which case 0 period delay isn't an issue.

Is there an argument against transactions taking effect on the day they're made, or did we just do it that way because that's what Yahoo does? Seems like our weekly add limit would prevent excessive streaming, and the only impact would be that most teams would use all 5 adds every week as they stream a hitter in for benched players on weekend games.

Yeah, that could work. Waiver picks aren't worth much, so tracking them and worrying about trades with them just seems kind of pointless to me.

Hi Chris, the best option for you to be able to have free-agent players added to rosters the following day would be to set your free agency claim system to "Automated Priority Order" and have that process daily in the early morning. You'll want to set it to a time where there's no chance of a game still being played.

You can change your free agency settings via Commissioner --> League Setup --> Transactions & Periods --> Claim/Drops, Free Agent Claim System: and set to "Automated Priority Order" from there select the days and time you would like your free agents to process, you'll want to select every day of the week.

Cromulent SP Merrill Kelly is available

He actually would make a decent SP5/6. Of course out of principle I'd never trade for him.
