Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 We're closing in on the No49 round. I gatta ask you North; do you have any regrets about your waiver draft strategy? Did certain guys you expected to be there later get taken? Or did everything go to plan, and you're happy with the waiver trades you made?
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Reporter? Lol Yes. I am the DDL's self-appointed Ken Rosenthal.

The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 I can't believe someone even let him slip to waivers. It's part of that team's tank strategy.

Did certain guys you expected to be there later get taken? Or did everything go to plan, and you're happy with the waiver trades you made? I'm fairly pleased with how it's worked out. Most of what's been taken since pick 25 or so has been generic relievers who project for 20 holds and decent ratios. Good guys to have, but not much different from the guys still available. And I was always going to cycle my last three roster spots for most of the season anyway, so dropping mid-round waiver guys early in the season would've been a waste.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 The President's Trophy winner don't need no stinkin' waiver draft!
TRM Verified Member Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 The President's Trophy winner don't need no stinkin' waiver draft! Who you calling the Prime Minister's Trophy Winner.....?!?!?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Oh that's right, BALCO faded down the stretch. Either way, I'm looking to lock down that trophy from here til 2016.
TRM Verified Member Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Oh that's right, BALCO faded down the stretch. Either way, I'm looking to lock down that trophy from here til 2016. Nawww, no fade down the stretch. It was the 2nd Leg's winning of 15 of the last 16 matchups of the regular season that locked down the trophy for my squad. And no comment to your second point.

I was in pole position for all but a couple weeks. So it sucked to lose out on the President's Trophy, but at least I won the Turkey Bacon Club Title and so have something to show for the season.

Bahh, I smashed you 10-4 in the regular season, and won the Regular Season Title by 12 games. Don't act like it was all that close. I owned the Regular Season last year.

Don't act like it was all that close. I owned the Regular Season last year. I played you once and beat you 9-5. How do you feel about that? Also of note: I played Twist and Trout just once and beat him 9-3.... Edited March 6, 2014 by The Cats Ass

The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Step aside, the men are speaking. We'll see dear, we'll see.
TRM Verified Member Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 I played you once and beat you 9-5. How do you feel about that? Also of note: I played Twist and Trout once and beat him 9-3.... It's funny, I had three losses and one tie. The tie was week 1, and the loss to you was week two. As an aside, right after this week was about when No49 went on his crusade against me. My other two losses were a little more expected, one was to FTD (I beat him too in the regular season, he got me when it mattered most though) and got smashed 10-1 by Hurl.
TRM Verified Member Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Also, jaysfever picked. You're up CatsAss
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Also, jaysfever picked. You're up CatsAss Just have to take a quick look to see who's available. Will pick within 2 minutes.
TRM Verified Member Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Just have to take a quick look to see who's available. Will pick within 2 minutes. Oh no rush, just giving you a heads up.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Chad Qualls PM'd Silvergun who is now on the clock.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Closer then set-up guy, nice pick. I feel like I'm dumpster diving. Best case scenario is he performs awesomely as closer and when Crain comes back they decide to leave him as the save collector and stick Crain as the set-up guy. Worst case(most likely case) is he'll stink it up in ST and not even collect Holds, in which case he'll be back on the wire for some other fool to pick him up.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Only 8 picks remaining, nice draft boys. Looks like we'll wrap it up in almost exactly two weeks.
TRM Verified Member Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 4 of which are No49. Definitely should be able to finish today
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 I took Dale Thayer and Nick Vincent. Have decided on my other two picks so it should go quick. Torontofan is up.
TRM Verified Member Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Have decided on my other two picks so it should go quick. Thankfully you're the only one picking, no way that this could possibly go wrong.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 I like Silver's C.J. Cron pick. I was thinking about him, but decided I already have too many young guys that'll start the year in the minors so I went with a boring RP.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 When he picked Cron, I was sure he was already an owned prospect. I haven't been following prospects very closely this offseason.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 I'm not even paying attention to that draft, my roster is full and I traded my waiver picks.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Nawww, no fade down the stretch. It was the 2nd Leg's winning of 15 of the last 16 matchups of the regular season that locked down the trophy for my squad. Wow that's an impressive feat. The guy you lost against must have been really good.
