But has anyone ever gone 14-0 after winning just 6 categories the two previous weeks? This felt like a normalization week. NJH almost up to .500, Dinger back into first in the Reuben, me back to the middle of the pack. At least I got into the record book this week.

I figured this would take a couple months.

actually forgot about Speedy, he's in 1st. But you underestimated my ineptness in managing a team. z3r0s and I play this week too.

I really thought this was the year Boxy made his playoff push :(

All my pitchers died and my hitters are sucking huge dicks

Looking to make a small trade to clear a roster spot - Lonnie Chisenhall or Scott Schebler for maybe a 3rd round pick or something like that. Both have CF eligibility.

Lonnie is supa hot fire right now and Scott is interesting and objectively better than Jessie Winker

Dinger can you please hype up Jeimer Candelarbro for me? I'd like to trade him for something sweet but I'm not exactly sure how this works.

You have to kick it off by saying some ******** about how some scout called him something exceptionally exciting. Then, make an unrealistic comparison to a current MLB star and just throw up your hands, saying, "that's just what I read from BP, don't take my word for it."

Then just periodically bang the drum every time he has a good game and try to cherry pick stats to make him look as good as possible.

Actually, I'm confused. Don't you need a 1B?

He could be interesting when he's finally traded. I think we can all agree though that NA-stashed back-end Top 100 prospects don't carry much trade value, with the exception of Willson Contreras last season and Christian Arroyo (.511 wOBA in AAA) this season. I could see Candelario putting up some Valbuena-like numbers if he gets a chance.

See you've got it wrong. Never comp them to a star, that's where you lose your audience. Comp them to something in like the 80% percentile outcome.

Can we get Tapia out of Colorado.... They are going to ruin this kid.

You want a young hitter to leave Coors?

Jeimer Candelario - 3B - Chicago Cubs

http://d3k2oh6evki4b7.cloudfront.net/req/201704071/images/headshots/b/bac9465f_mlbam.jpg

Stats: .330/.420/.571 in 93 AAA games.

"There are all kinds of fantastic hitterish traits here." - Eric Longenhagen

"Candelario is an advanced hitter from both sides of the plate. The swing is simple, short, and geared for contact, but he is strong enough to make it loud if he gets a pitch to drive. And like most Cubs prospects not named Albert Almora, Candelario has a keen eye and strong approach at the plate. So he knows which pitches to drive. All things considered, it’s a plus hit tool." - BP Prospect Staff

"Candelario is a talented offensive player who could start for several clubs. A switch-hitter with a fluid stroke from both sides of the plate, he makes consistent hard contact and draws a healthy amount of walks." - MLB.com

"‘Enfuego’ is an understatement when it comes to Candelario’s 2017 start after being one of the last sent out to the minors towards the end of big league spring training. Candelario jumped onto the Cubs’ radar after a solid 2014 season, and then a real breakout 2015 that saw him stroke 10 jacks and 35 doubles. He then cemented his prospect status by repeating the offensive feat while burning through Double-A and Triple-A pitching with 39 doubles and 13 long-balls last year. So far this year, Candelario is showing that he may have little left to prove in the minor leagues, and he could force the Cubs’ hand if this type of extra-base hit damage is still going on in mid-May.

Candelario has pop and is a big strong kid... He has always has a good approach at the plate and is relatively comfortable hitting with two strikes... a doubles machine...

The glove continues to be solid, and despite getting a lot of looks at first base in spring training, third base remains his best spot... The ingredients are there for Candelario to be an impact-type bat in a big league lineup..." - Dave Defreitas, 2080 Baseball

Such an attractive player. Imagine a prime Pablo Sandoval type 3B, that isn't fat as f***.

He's ruining himself. He seems to prefer being a slap-hitter with absolutely zero plate discipline.

TIL Miguel Cabrera is an 80th percentile outcome for Kevin Maitan.

A wise man once said nobody wants Candelario...

Anyone with a NA slot open or a rebuilding team interest in Jeimer Candelario? Top 100 prospect, I'm just trying to compete and don't have a free NA slot. Can be had for cheap cheap cheap!

nobody

"He lacks the lateral quickness, soft hands and footwork to play third base for me and instead projects as a first-base-only player despite an above-average arm." "In aggregate, he projects as a plus hitter with average game power, a profile that places him on the fringe of playing every day at first base." - Fangraphs

Everyone likes a fringe first baseman. Sounds like a 2017 Sandoval to me.

Is he being ruined? He has like a 130 wRC+ across AA and AAA. Only 8 homers last year, but he was 22 and in the upper minors. Seems to be on track to be a Martin Prado bat.

Really I just wanted him for free. Throwing shade at you worked!

Everyone knows the thing to ignore from scouts is defensive reports.

Talk to the scouts about that one, that's not my comp.

I can see how my guide was so inaccurate.

Yeah it's probably hard to even talk to a player about changing their approach when they've hit .340 all the way up the ladder.

Tapia's prime issues with breaking through are probably defense and speed utility. Apparently he can't play CF and it also seems like he's an awful baserunner for some reason.
