The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 2 guys that haven't made it past A-ball yet in the top 35...
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 No, that's fine for a ranking, just responding to you saying he doesn't have elite upside. I didn't say that, the article did. I think he's good, although I will reserve "elite" for the big 3.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 They're for 5x5 rankings though right? Including AVG? Ranks for our league would be totally different.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Holy f*** that list is terrible. I'll only bother pointing out one of the terribly egregious rankings but there are plenty more. 5) Gregory Polanco, Pittsburgh Pirates 6) Christian Yelich, Miami Marlins 7) Giancarlo Stanton, Miami Marlins I’ll be honest, when I first sketched out this list, I had these three in a different order. Then I found myself on the clock in a start-up dynasty draft staring these three outfielders in the face. In the end, I couldn’t pull the trigger on either Marlin. Polanco has long been a favorite of mine, but he finally broke out in the majors last year by tapping into the power oozing from his tall frame. The speed won’t always be there, but until it falls away, 20/20 seasons await as he makes his way towards his prime. Yelich could find himself at the four-spot next year if he can take another step towards lowering his ground-ball rate, like he did in 2016. Stanton could as well if he can play 150 games, which he hasn’t done since 2011, and show that trademark power throughout. For f***ing real, dude? Holy s***, what an idiot.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Joc is too low for me. I love him in our OBP/CF formats.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 They're for 5x5 rankings though right? Including AVG? Ranks for our league would be totally different. Well, he made this comment after Marte: Batting average, lots of speed, and enough pop to still contribute in the category. He won’t get on base at all via the walk, but he’s been hit by 79 pitches in his career—in fact, he nearly was hit more times than he was talked back in 2013—and his .362 OBP last year was more than respectable given his secondary skills. But who knows, it's Bret Sayre.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 I definitely would take Giancarlo over Polanco and Yelich in our format, in 5x5 it's closer.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 21, 2017 Author Posted February 21, 2017 HAHAHHAHAHA this is awful wow Puig tied with Nick Williams
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 HAHAHHAHAHA this is awful wow Puig tied with Nick Williams Nick Williams' upside is basically the bad version of Puig. I have no faith in Nick Williams whatsoever.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 yeah Polanco is crazy high. As an owner I admit that. Guy is super down on Heyward too. I know he blew epicly last year, but is he really a worse dynasty asset than Jorge Soler?

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Billy Hamilton seems like an insane ranking at #20, but the value swing from 5x5 to our 7x7 is probably the most severe for him.

Why spend half of Marte's write-up based on OBP, then? Who is he writing for, exactly? Christ, what a dunce.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 he's a weird 5x5 guy because he doesn't hit for average.

I can see Hamilton's #20 ranking if this is for 5x5. And you think he can hit like he did in the second half of last year (.293 avg).
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 21, 2017 Author Posted February 21, 2017 All of the fantasy baseball internet guys are awful.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Who's on the clock? I can't wait to decide between garbage reclamation project Andrew Cashner or general garbage starter moving to a good park Edinson Volquez.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 LINK FOR SPREADSHEET https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...gid=1001364216 Is this showing as broken for everybody else?

Laika Community Moderator Posted February 21, 2017 Author Posted February 21, 2017 Is this showing as broken for everybody else? Maybe the board does something weird to old links. I fixed it now but check again next week
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Did anyone ask where Chris Davis is on his OF ranking? I didn't see him anywhere.

The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Did anyone ask where Chris Davis is on his OF ranking? I didn't see him anywhere. I did. But he didn't get back to me yet.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Do you want to trade down? Hmm, probably not, since I'm guessing you'd only offer me a late round pick that I'll never use.
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Players below Mark Trumbo on that list that I'm willing to trade him for: Eloy jimenez Joc Pederson Jackie Bradley Jr. You know how to reach me.

Lol he seems to have difficultly with consistently keeping a dynasty perspective vs redraft or a 1-3 year outlook. You would probably get blackballed by an owner for suggesting any of those trades, and yet I'm guessing you would have no interest in Billy Hamilton for Trumbo.

I expect to receive three PMs in short order from people looking to trade their OF for the superior asset, according to expert opinion.
