Laika Community Moderator Posted November 29, 2016 Author Posted November 29, 2016 I feel sort of dumb for not picking up Thames at the end of the regular season. Different situation with a player that WAS in the MLB prior to going overseas than your typical international FA. Even if he didn't come over, could have kept him for free in the OS and just dropped him at the cut down. s***... Was he in the player pool?

Irritatingly, this is the very day Yahoo! fantasy baseball went offline so it's impossible to check but I'm pretty sure someone would have stashed him by now if it was a possibility.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 good question, not sure Definitely not.

I still have access, and he is not in the pool. Regret averted
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 f***in' Hell. I wouldn't sweat it just yet, he might end up in Colorado.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 At this point I would say first overall in the Waiver Draft should be this guy <-----------
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 ... or Toronto. Either one would definitely work for me.
BTS Community Moderator Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 I wouldn't sweat it just yet, he might end up in Colorado. Trumbo is going to Colorado. As a CCC owner in LoD I've accepted that he carries very little value, and his status as a full time player could be over at any time.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Who is that? Little Seags

They're very similar players, in fact Carter has a better career wOBA. I don't see why any team would willingly pay 3x as much for Trumbo + give up a draft pick for the privilege.

I never said it would be rational, but I'm willing to bet that Trumbo gets more than 3x what Carter does. It helps that most teams will see him as someone who can play defense. He might actually be good at first base.
BTS Community Moderator Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Little Seags Why would he be in the waiver draft? I am confused.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 He is over 500 PA's. Its the Jake Lamb situation!! I've emailed Havok about it anyway. No need to have our first member loss be a rage quit over losing a franchise player for nothing.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Why would he be in the waiver draft? I am confused. He's eligible, unless promoted. He will be promoted, I'm just pointing out that he hasn't been... yet.

BTS Community Moderator Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 In that case, trade him to me. I suspect that you wouldn't offer anything of actual value for him. Which was my point: I'm content to just take the Util production until teams stop giving him full PT, because it's been my experience that his value on the market is basically nothing.

As evidenced by me drafting him 345th overall in BORED. Not bad for the season he turned in.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Top-100 in that format I think? 69th overall according to Yahoo.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Lol ACE. What a tool. Ive never played with someone who broke so many simple rules and then had the audacity to belittle the rest of the league because he was to lazy to pay attention to his roster
