boxy left around the same time but he had already added linc as co-manager so we didn't need to find a replacement

What about if the cutdown is reinstated? Gotta cut to 20 players + 14 prospects, bring back previous playing thresholds for callups. Keep it at one draft, extend it some number of rounds, and all players are game in the draft, both prospects and roster guys.

 

It wouldn't happen this offseason, but could start next. Might boost activity next trade deadline as well, with people knowing they can only keep 20.

I think the problem is that we have 2-3 owners who don’t actually care, beyond stopping in for a week or two every once in awhile to make a few moves. Rule changes like cutdowns isn’t going to increase their interest in the league. They might stop in at the deadline to make a couple more moves, but the end result will still be that they have mostly neglected teams with no shot at winning.

I think the first step should be a roll-call confirming interest / intent.

 

It's pretty easy to just put off making a decision if you are waffling about still being interested. Get everyone to affirm if they are actually in and committed to actually managing.
