A questionable strategy IMO. Not much point in leaving your best offer in your back pocket. It wouldn't have made a difference in this case but every time I read a "I would have offered" post, my reaction is always "so why didn't you?".

Interesting, they're very close. Archer is slightly younger and with a better injury history, but has more mileage. I probably would have leaned Archer, also, like I did when you traded him to me for a late 1st round pick because of a perceived roster crunch.
