z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 Officially getting nothing out of Aaron Sanchez this year hurts. Time can be real good having a Jays player / fantasy asset, and time can be real s*****.
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 11, 2017 Author Posted September 11, 2017 Looks like my season is gonna be done. Unless Davis can get me 2 HRs tonight I was sweating after he hit one in his 3rd PA. Good battle. Pretty satisfying to knock you out after you ran away from me with the division a few weeks ago.
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 11, 2017 Author Posted September 11, 2017 Also, I've been receiving a number of inquiries on Brent Honeywell; I'm a big fan but some of these have been pretty good so I may decide to move him. I more than likely won't accept a deal before the playoffs are done, but you can start getting your early bids in now and we can get a line of communication going, that is if the board reverts to loading a page in under 5 minutes. I think I offered Kopech for Honeywell a few months ago, Gibbers rejected it but I still think it's fair. Do you like screwballs or triple digits? Kopech is certainly more handsome too.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 Seems like an easy reject; Honeywell has better K rates and vastly superior command and better/more secondaries.
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 11, 2017 Author Posted September 11, 2017 They are clearly coinflip prospects. Kopech is a god, his numbers are extremely legit and he could just as easily be an Ace. Velocity is so important at the highest level.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 I feel like Kopech and Glasnow are a coinflip. Honeywell is almost as perfect as a pitching prospect gets, and he still routinely hits 95 on his heater, so it's not like he's just a pitchability guy either.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 Remember the Brandon McCarthy-John Danks prospect challenge trade? Holy s*** we are old af.

Speaking of Glasnow, he starts on Wednesday. I'm really looking forward to seeing him. That 30% K-BB% in AAA is bananas.

Something about Rays pitching prospects doesn't sit right with me... maybe it's the Matt Moore effect. Or the Hellickson effect. Or Blake Snell. Anyway, lots of their dudes seem to murder MiLB and then turn wholly pedestrian in the Show
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 Something about Rays pitching prospects doesn't sit right with me... maybe it's the Matt Moore effect. Or the Hellickson effect. Or Blake Snell. Anyway, lots of their dudes seem to murder MiLB and then turn wholly pedestrian in the Show David Price and Chris Archer worked out pretty well. Alex Cobb worked out well before he was hurt, Odorizzi has been about as expected. I don't really subscribe to the idea that one team is going to affect a pitcher's outcome significantly. If they're good, healthy, and can learn, it will work out. A lot of them just don't work out, regardless of organization. Matt Moore has no one to blame but himself, although it is entertaining to go back and see which prospect sites ranked him above Mike Trout.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 And how's Cargo doing, again?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 Yo I swear I didn't even submit this one: BT (Chicago): Who is the better major leaguer: Ronald Acuna or Victor Robles? Scooter Hotz: Right now, it looks like it's Acuna. But considering that you're asking about a 19-year-old (Acuna) and a 20-year-old (Robles), the range of outcomes for each is incredibly high. Twenty years from now, any analyst who picked the player out of these two who ended up being better got lucky. Hopefully they won't mistake their good fortune for actual skill.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 And how's Cargo doing, again? wRC+ of 74 at 31 years old, and almost certain to leave Coors. It really grinds my gears that SG landed a prospect of Keller's calibre for him.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 I will 100% take a gamble on Cargo if you want to trade him GD
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 11, 2017 Author Posted September 11, 2017 Round 3 huh NJH? Ding. Ding. This is the year My pitching is so bad that it just might work
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 11, 2017 Author Posted September 11, 2017 Players more dead than CarGo have bounced back
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 Players more dead than CarGo have bounced back Bounce back to what, exactly? Half an injury-shortened season of 115 wRC+ without the benefit of Coors?
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 I'm looking for a SS, and can offer any of Justin Bour, Drunk Ho Kang, and possibly Tommy Pham to land one. Hmu to discuss.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 Holy shite, I didn't realize how badly his Ks have fallen off.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 Holy shite, I didn't realize how badly his Ks have fallen off. He looks like a fringe keeper, so he'll probably get traded for a top-25 prospect.

Yes, I'll be curious to see which rebuilding team inexplicably gives silvergun a building block prospect for Hamels. Won't be me, at least.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 Actually I could really a depth starter HMU
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-next-great-hope-in-pittsburgh-again/ Some material to read before we all watch Tyler Glasnow's triumphant return to MLB tomorrow.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 To complete the massive Daniel Murphy deal from the trade deadline, Havok is sending me Fernando Romero.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Rhys Hoskins... Can you be a team MVP when you don't come up till August?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-next-great-hope-in-pittsburgh-again/ Some material to read before we all watch Tyler Glasnow's triumphant return to MLB tomorrow. This is going to look really bad for you if Glasnow gets shelled while giving up like 5 walks to 2 strikeouts.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 This is going to look really bad for you if Glasnow gets shelled while giving up like 5 walks to 2 strikeouts. I've considered this and have decided to ghost from this thread in the event that it happens.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Rhys Hoskins is Babe Ruth.
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 13, 2017 Author Posted September 13, 2017 Well that was a quick matchup
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Well that was a quick matchup Well you might... well there's still... maybe if... nope, you're f***ed.
