z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Interesting, 100 waiver picks in 2014 99 waiver picks in 2015 98 waiver picks in 2016 97 (currently) waiver picks in 2017 If these trends continue... http://i.imgur.com/cMk3l.jpg Also, promoting Josh Bell ahhhhh, you ruined it!
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 I'm in a gambling mood. To jaysblue: Choo To FTD: Shleby Miller Confirmed.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Shelby Miller f***ing blows. Would not own again. Frankly I'm surprised JB didn't cut him. It was either him or Folty since I wanted to keep Neftali Feliz. Figured Miller had at least more upside if he rebounded to his 2015 level. Happy to land Choo however. If he stays healthy, he's a valuable bat in this format with his high OBP skills.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 16, 2017 Author Posted February 16, 2017 Choo and Miller both blow. Nice garbage swap. Folty is more intriguing than either

Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 I agree both are bad. Personally I think Choo could still contribute in OBP and be useful but I have enough old vet OF/UTIL bats as is so wanted to swap one for pitching and I'm hoping Miller can somehow rebound.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Didn't BTS have a huge man crush on him? Yes I vividly remember him praising me when I swapped Chen for Choo 2 years ago
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Didn't BTS have a huge man crush on him? Yeah, I absolutely love the idea of a healthy Choo as a fantasy asset. I think I`ve only ever owned him once though.
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Yes I vividly remember him praising me when I swapped Chen for Choo 2 years ago That seems unlikely considering I was the guy receiving Chen.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 I once traded David Price for Choo. So that happened.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Yeah, I absolutely love the idea of a healthy Choo as a fantasy asset. I think I`ve only ever owned him once though. Yeah if Choo can rebound and repeat his 2015 level, I'll be more than happy to have him as my OF3 or DH. Hopefully the deal works out for both sides.
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 I once traded David Price for Choo. So that happened. But that was back in 2013 when he was an absolute fantasy beast CF with Cincinnatti. That trade wouldn`t even look bad if he had managed to stay healthy. It could have easily went the other way (Choo stayed healthy and Price started to break down).

Yes but unfortunately Choo didn't stay healthy and I handed North a championship. I had also traded him James Shields (who was still good) for Cliff Lee, who never threw another inning. I gave him 450 incredible innings that season. I think I also gave him CCC dirt cheap and he proceeded to smack 37 bombs.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 That seems unlikely considering I was the guy receiving Chen. Clearly I'm getting old.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 I'll take Fernando Rodney.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 I'll take Fernando Rodney. Bold prediction: Rodney finishes the year with 35+ saves.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 E-mail the next people too. A lot of people have e-mail hardwired to their phone and will get a notification.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Bold prediction: Rodney finishes the year with 35+ saves. Not bold prediction: Rodney is released before opening day.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 16, 2017 Author Posted February 16, 2017 (edited) I traded fartface for Miller in the LoD back in October. I agree that Miller was definitely not keeper worthy in this league. Edited February 16, 2017 by Laika
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Bold prediction: Rodney finishes the year with 35+ saves. Not bold prediction: Rodney is released before opening day. Maybe even both. I drafted him last year and he put up a 0.31 ERA for the first half in SD, then a 5.89 ERA second half in MIA.

z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 I've been thinking for a while about rearranging the spreadsheet to reflect the division (but holding off because I'm worried about f***ing with the linking and opening up a can of worms). I've worked up the courage, does anyone have an issues with me moving the teams around by division? Only issue I can see is people know where teams are (generally) on the sheet as it is.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 and god damn you change team names a lot KK.
TRM Verified Member Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 I'm thinking about a permanent rebrand to "The Mintenders". Pros: It's not attached to a player It can be used to compliment me ("contender") and attack me ("pretender") There's only one Min-tender Simple Easy to identify team with owner Cons: Kinda boring? Not particularly clever No one likes Min Any insights?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Pro: Victor Robles is going to be the next Cameron Maybin and you probably don't want your franchise tied to his name
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 I've got to rebrand to move into hopefully competition. Been thinking about it for a long time and have come to realization that I suck at coming up with team names. *edit, I did like the f*** Dahls in my redraft last year
