Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 I'm so happy he was terrible. I'm glad I was able to sell him before he became nearly unrosterable in LOD, though I also traded Stroman for Tyson Ross in the same deal so it kind of balanced out
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Also, IRC he held on Sanchez and Tanaka last offseason when a lot of people might have been tempted to dump shares. He deserves credit for that. He traded Tanaka + Barreto to me for Mazara last offseason.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Poor Boxy's waiver draft history is tragic: 2014 (4th): Eddie Butler (Tanaka, Abreu taken 1 and 2) 2015 (3rd): Jesus Montero (Tomas, Souza taken 1 and 2 and Kang 5th) 2016 (2nd): Byung-Ho Park (Maeda 1st and Michael Fulmer 4th) Hopefully this year his pick works out spectacularly for him.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 The knock on Kang was he was putting up the same numbers as Eric Thames. Now the tables have turned and Thames goes first in the draft because no one is dismissing KBO numbers anymore. Thames went 1st because there literally isnt anyone else.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Boxy's draft haul (top 10 picks only) Waiver: Eddie Butler (2014) Jesus Montero (2015) Byung-Ho Park (2016) Lourdres Gurriel (2017) Rule IV: Austin Meadows (2013) Dominic Smith (2013) Billy McKinney (2013) Carlos Rodon (2014) Brady Aiken (2014) Alex Bregman (2015) Andrew Benintendi (2015) Anderson Espinoza (2016) Jason Groome (2016) It's not like these were bad picks at the time. A lot of this was getting unlucky. It goes to show how easy it is for high picks and good prospects to flame out and lose value.

Getting studs like Austin Meadows and Dom Smith out of it is probably the best he could hope for.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 I'm seriously considering dealing most of my top prospects in a sexy megadeal so if you've been secretly coveting any speak now, etc. Ugh FML and f*** you, secret seller
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 14, 2017 Author Posted February 14, 2017 I'm seriously considering dealing most of my top prospects in a sexy megadeal so if you've been secretly coveting any speak now, etc. Vetoed in advance
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Vetoed in advance Can I be moved out of his division, if I make any said type trades?
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 14, 2017 Author Posted February 14, 2017 Can I be moved out of his division, if I make any said type trades? Win the DDL this year and you can change divisions.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Win the DDL this year and you can change divisions. Deal...
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 Thames went 1st because there literally isnt anyone else. Shh.... You're ruining my narrative.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 The lineup is nice: Contreras, Abreu, Dee, K Seag, Story, Eaton, Mazara, Polanco, C Santana. Should be good for years to come. On the pitching side it's Aaron Sanchez, CarMart, Richards, with Urias and Giolito on the farm and a nice collection of holds guys. It's a non-closer pen but should be pretty dominant in holds to make up for it. Pitching depth is maybe a bit short for the time being just because the rotation is so young and innings could be unreliable. I think it's already a very dangerous team. He could also trade Senzel+ for pitching if he's in it near the deadline. It was a patient and well-executed rebuild.Holy hell, that team is positioned for sustained success. Dynasty in the making. Great job on your rebuild, z3r0s.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 15, 2017 Author Posted February 15, 2017 It's not really a rebuild by z3r0s, because he was never a playoff team previously. It's just more of a slow build, finally coming to fruition.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 Boxy is a pretty damn good minor league drafter It's just the everything else that's a problem
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 Boxy is a pretty damn good minor league drafter It's just the everything else that's a problem I perform better than you do in literally every league we play in together.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 take in Boxy might not have more playoff appearances than an 11 year old Jewish kid who's bad at math and baseball
TRM Verified Member Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 take in Boxy might not have more playoff appearances than an 11 year old Jewish kid who's bad at math and baseball Is north dead?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 I dunno what that is. LOD: 1-0 (GD) BBDL: 2-2 (Tie) (Tiebreaker goes to GD cause #flagsflyforever) BORED: 0-1 (Boxfart) think we're tied but someone should double check my math tbh + championship GD >>>> Alt right fart box

Also 2 PL titles (where you also play and where my supposed "good minor league drafting" is irrelevant) Anyway, I'm not interesting in continuing with the dick measuring. Only here to tell you to know your role, jabroni.

I think the Howies made a playoff appearance but I wouldn't take any credit for that. No Mark Assigned
