BTS Community Moderator Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Harumph. Sorry. For a team in my position, the upside of Broxton was just more attractive than the framework we were discussing.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Really good FG piece on Keon yesterday, you probably saw. 98th percentile exit velo.
BTS Community Moderator Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 I hate that I own Scott Kazmir again. I did not enjoy the experience in BORED last year.
BTS Community Moderator Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Lol You don't think he has a high ceiling?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 I hate that I own Scott Kazmir again. I did not enjoy the experience in BORED last year. I wouldn't worry about it, he probably won't get many starts.
Laika Community Moderator Posted January 18, 2017 Author Posted January 18, 2017 Fitting that Broxton is in Milwaukee because I think his MAX upside is basically 2016 Jonathan Villar, at CF of course instead of SS/2B/3B. Maybe trade 20 steals for a few more XBH. More likely, he'll hit the ball hard, run, but K at a 33% clip and be Melvin Upton Jr. A viable MLB average CF but a frustrating fantasy player.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 You don't think he has a high ceiling? No not really but what do I know? I get emphasizing a young player and to be frank, I was surprised by your interest in X.

If he plays a full season next year, I guarantee 50 HR+SB.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 I hate that I own Scott Kazmir again. I did not enjoy the experience in BORED last year. I wonder who would make an all-time fantasy pain in the ass team. Jason Hamel is notorious for tricking people into thinking he's better than he is. I'd probably slot him in the rotation along with Kazmir. Jason Heyward and Justin Upton are pretty notorious fantasy teases. Good players but people have frequently overpayed for them because they were supposed to be superstars.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 If he plays a full season next year, I guarantee 50 HR+SB. You know you don't need to pump his tires anymore right?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 You know you don't need to pump his tires anymore right? Sorry, force of habit.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Ugh I dropped Gsellman during my BORED playoff run in a desperate moment and came to regret it. Now that I've reacquired him, he should naturally resume his fringy swingman career trajectory.

I hated owning Francisco Liriano. Even when he was good you never knew when he'd drop 6 walks on you. Also, Alex Cobb because he has the skillset, but seems to always find a way to turn in a near-useless season because of injuries.

Liriano was a heart-breaker especially in his early Twins days when he looked for all the world like he would be Johann Santana 2.0. That's an excellent choice.
BTS Community Moderator Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Scott Kazmir is very much available now.
Laika Community Moderator Posted January 18, 2017 Author Posted January 18, 2017 If he plays a full season next year, I guarantee 50 HR+SB. So... same as Melvin Upton?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 So... same as Melvin Upton? Melvin Upton circa 2010/2011, yes. Great comp.

Probably could say that about Stanton too, and Puig.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Probably could say that about Stanton too Let's play Player A/Player B! 2015 & 2016 Combined Stats Outfielder A: 54 HR, 141 RBI, 103 R, .250/.334/.536, 130 wRC+, .286 ISO - 3rd overall pick BORED Outfielder B: 69 HR, 168 RBI, 139 R, .247/.313/.516, 122 wRC+, .269 ISO - 7th round pick BORED

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 I'm gonna go with "some plug that Dinger owns" and "Giancarlo Stanton" That plug just cranked more HR than Stanton has ever hit in a season.
