Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 So Boxy's Oscar Taveras compensation ended up being Andrew Benintendi and Anderson Espinoza. Pretty ideal! Yeah I'm not complaining.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 El Blocko Sal Perez Jose Bautista Albert Pujols Keon Broxton Adam Duvall Felix Hernandez Scott Kazmir Wade Davis Sam Dyson Tom Watson Of primary concern would be the acquisition of a 3B. Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 You're aware that AL teams can have their pitcher bat? No s***, Ms. Marple. I'm also aware that if he plays in the NL, the team can placate him by giving him regular ABs without additional risk.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 WAR Pigs Trade Block Charlie Blackmon - CF Cameron Rupp - C Ender Inciarte - CF Eugenio Suárez - 3B Didi Gregorius - SS Alex Wood - SP Chase Anderson - SP Seth Lugo - SP Matt Boyd - SP Francis Martes - SP Corey Knebel - RP Edubray Ramos - RP Jason Grilli - RP Scrap Heap (aka free) Jesse Hahn - SP Erik Johnson - SP I'm looking for a SS this offseason. I'd also move players not listed here because I move pieces around without a plan or direction.
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 27, 2016 Author Posted September 27, 2016 Hurley can pick his compensatory prospects this weekend. Just give it a few more days in case some other league members who have been AFK want to dissent or otherwise comment on the situation.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 No s***, Ms. Marple. I'm also aware that if he plays in the NL, the team can placate him by giving him regular ABs without additional risk. That makes no sense.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 That makes no sense. Yes it does. Just because an AL team CAN let the pitcher hit doesn't mean they will. In fact, they never do. NL teams have no choice in the matter.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Is it too late to make a free agent add?
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Is it too late to make a free agent add? I assume SG's add of Peacock is illegal
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 I have interest in Nunez. Not sure what I'm offering atm but just thought I'd throw it out there. I like Turner too while I'm at it.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Like anyone is going to keep Brad Peacock
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 I assume SG's add of Peacock is illegal Is it though? What's the cutoff? End of the fantasy season or the real one?
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 27, 2016 Author Posted September 27, 2016 I dunno. Minus two points from Slytherin!
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 I dunno. Minus two points from Slytherin! The reason I was asking wasn't because of SG. I was looking at the positional eligibility of my guys and wanted to make an add that I could have (should have?) done last week had I taken the time to analyze my roster a little more at the time. Ultimately, I'd (hopefully) just be picking up a placeholder anyways and would be able to make better additions through trade.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Yes it does. Just because an AL team CAN let the pitcher hit doesn't mean they will. In fact, they never do. NL teams have no choice in the matter. That doesn't change the level of risk.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 If I was making up the rules, adds would be stopped at the end of the playoff final. Really not a big deal when it ends, as long as we have a date.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 I thought FA opens back up at the conclusion of the WS?
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Rule on the books is After the season has concluded and prior to the Cut Date, roster size (both MLB and MiLB) is unlimited. Owners may acquire as many MLB & MiLB players via trade as they wish, so long as their rosters are cut down to the maximum allowable size by mid-February. No free agents may be picked up via the Yahoo database after the conclusion of the playoffs until the conclusion of the Rule 5 Draft.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Rule on the books is Riiiight, dunno why I thought otherwise Thank you Mr. Church archivist and young boy enthusiast
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 So we're going to dock Silvergun a 1st round pick for this infraction, right?
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Rule on the books is Peacock was picked up off waivers which means that Silvergun could have put the claim in before the end of the playoffs, and it just wasn't processed until today.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 So what's the ruling on Peacock? He was picked up off waivers which means that Silvergun could have put the claim in before the end of the playoffs, and it just wasn't processed until today. As much as I doubt it matters, I can only assume the add is illegal.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Riiiight, dunno why I thought otherwise Thank you Mr. Church archivist and young boy enthusiast my boys are growing up :'(. Only the two Whitely's left in their teen!
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 As much as I doubt it matters, I can only assume the add is illegal. I agree, doesn't really matter in this case, Peacock sucks. But I feel if it's a waiver claim it should be legal. You could have the final 2 teams dropping keeper worthy players to stream pitchers. I think the other teams should be allowed to put in claims for those players.
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 27, 2016 Author Posted September 27, 2016 TCA making sense. Did I miss an intervention this weekend?
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 TCA making sense. Did I miss an intervention this weekend? I actually went on a 3 day bender this past weekend.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Well, Ramos finally exploded. At least he waited until the end of the fantasy season to tear his ACL.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Never trust a catcher who's not Buster Posey. I only trust catchers who don't catch.
