Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Facing Mike Trout would't be all that fun either. And Kershaw might be back by then too. Also, it looks like I may have ended my playoff drought. Congrats, kid.
TRM Verified Member Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 You lost to the best team actually, the week before those. you're an objectively lame person
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 you're an objectively lame person umad
TRM Verified Member Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 umad Kind of. I would have liked to collect on consecutive wins against SG and FTD the next two weeks, rather than the previous two. Oh well.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 That was a quiet trade deadline. I find this league is one of the tougher ones to make deals.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 I find this league is one of the tougher ones to make deals. I offered you several blockbusters that you sat on for more than a week before declining. Can't say you didn't have any action.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 I offered you several blockbusters that you sat on for more than a week before declining. Can't say you didn't have any action. Yup I was contemplating it, though I mentioned that it was a deal I'd probably be more open to in the offseason. You actually only sent me one offer, not several.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Yeah you're right actually.
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 29, 2016 Author Posted August 29, 2016 My big deadline acquisition was a Jacoby Ellsbury waiver add with the #20 priority, thanks in part I'm sure to a tactical smokescreen post on this forum upon his DFA from Los Osos Blancos. Fans of the Butt Stallions are understandably disappointed.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 I tried, couldn't land Happ or Paxton and waffled on buying Estrada, he's been reeeeal s***** lately. Price tag on Happ was extremely high I recall (top 100 player in return). I tried going after guys like Paxton & Ventura as well, though that team was reluctant to move pitching for offense.

Let me just dig up the PM where you said he's not even as good as Rajai Davis (which you were absolutely correct on).
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 I tried, couldn't land Happ or Paxton and waffled on buying Estrada, he's been reeeeal s***** lately. I don't really understand why the Pharm team has been frantically buying fringe relievers with what must be a <5% chance at the playoffs. North is having a hard time accepting the fact that he's going to miss the playoffs.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Price tag on Happ was extremely high I recall (top 100 player in return). I asked on Happ and the request was the player currently ranked #10 overall. Can't blame speedy for trying, but he was never going to get that kind of return.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Also lol @ the Baez deal, has the Pharm fallen far enough that mafk is a keeper? Yikes. I don't know wtf North is doing. The Cutch trade was pretty gross IMO.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 I actually don't even know what team Pedro Baez is on off the top of my head.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 So does GD get fired (again) at the end of the week? Pharm team will need a scapegoat.

Well Jacoby will strictly platoon so there's little chance of him tanking anything. I just hope he contributes a little bit in some of the counting stats, which my team has been mediocre at accumulating all year long. But yeah. I wasn't sure if he was even an upgrade on Smolinski...

Laika Community Moderator Posted August 29, 2016 Author Posted August 29, 2016 Actually I see someone more interesting already. Bye, Jacoby.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Actually I see someone more interesting already. Bye, Jacoby. I would have gone with Toles over Schebler. Keon Broxton is better than both tho.
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 29, 2016 Author Posted August 29, 2016 I would have gone with Toles over Schebler. Keon Broxton is better than both tho. I owned Keon Broxton in the LOD while he went 0/50 to start his career so I f***ING KNOW HE'S BETTER. Schebler is starting and Toles is nominally a 4th OF though

BTS Community Moderator Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Toles is Benintendi without the hype. The hype train is pulling out of the station. How exciting. I think I see the rotting corpse of Trayce Thompson.
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 29, 2016 Author Posted August 29, 2016 Toles is Benintendi without the hype. I hate to reference the LOD in this thread with such frequency but I own Toles there so I lean towards diversification since all of my fantasy decisions have a tendency of turning to garbage this year
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 The hype train is pulling out of the station. How exciting. I think I see the rotting corpse of Trayce Thompson. I thought about sending you a Broxton for Gio offer last night but I didn't feel the hype was quite ripe for that.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Spanky, you can't let SG get more than 10 wins this week. Help a brother out. Holy crap... don't count on it...
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 So jays_fever doesn't set line-ups... lame.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Huh, looks like I'll get 2 start weeks from Scherzer (Atl, Phi); Hamels (Sea, LAA); Hill (Ari, Mia) in round 1. Come and get it boys! Also 2 from McHugh but he scares the f*** out of me lately. If you 14-0 Spanky you might get to face your old pal BTS in round 1!
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 I owned Keon Broxton in the LOD while he went 0/50 to start his career so I f***ING KNOW HE'S BETTER. Schebler is starting and Toles is nominally a 4th OF though I owned Schebler for about a week in this league. I think I dropped him to pick up Nick Franklin. I'm using a ton of rosters spots right now for hitters who are sitting on my bench - guys like Cuthbert, Joseph, Morneau, Castro, Franklin. In a perfect world, trimming down to 2-3 would be ideal, though I'm sure if I drop one or two of those guys, one team will reap the benefits.
