Yeah, that's actually possible. I'm not really inclined to cut anyone from my farm for a relief prospect though. And I'm not sure Montas has the breaking ball to be truly elite.

Sadly, I think Gattis will be out of baseball soon anyway. Having C eligibility is nice for fantasy purposes, but IRL he's kind of a disaster of a player.

He makes for a good story though. I think we'll see a movie about it sometime.

 

I can see it now: stoner washes out of baseball and works a ski lift, then quits drugs and makes his glorious comeback as a one-dimensional slugger who bounces around a few teams while winning nothing of importance and not getting a major contract at any point. You write the screenplay and I'll get Seth Rogen to start doing CrossFit for the role.

He also served as a Janitor and a parking valet, had to beg for food after running out of money while visiting a spiritual healer, had stints at a drug rehab clinic and a mental ward. Also while he was at the ski lift he slept in a tee-pee. I can see a movie about this, not saying it would be a good movie though. You can stretch and mould a couple truths is spots, but I think it has potential.

 

Jim Morris has his own movie and has only pitched 15 innings.

I can't believe that after trading Tanaka I ended up with another arm that may play with a partially torn ligament looming over his head (although I guess its been another year that Tanaka has been healthy enough).

I'd say owning Tanaka worked out pretty well for you. Mazara is going to be a Cargo-esque monster in the very near future.

Not hammering Tanaka, guy pitched his brains out on my team (and pretty well this year too). Its just s***** constantly waiting for the TJ to come. I guess you could say that about any pitcher, but it seems more 'real' when they are half way to a torn ligament :P.

Deadline tomorrow. No contender wants to add closer Jim Johnson? Guy has 8 holds, 10 saves since becoming closer, a 3.36 xFIP, and a 3.52 ERA.

Yeah, you're right. It's the 14th/15th in every other league I'm in. The 28th is really late. Have we ever had the deadline in late August?

Yeah it's hard to complain too hard about maybe not sucking. I wish I could have taken a bigger step forward than merely out of the lottery though. That was my hope but my team lacks depth and my drafting has gone from a strength to a weakness which is worrisome for a team in my position.

Activity. Your 72 roster moves are by far the most in the league. As a result, your team is more bad than terrible. You actually have a good rotation in addition to Betts.

Whatever it says in the settings. I made it the latest possible date, which I think makes sense.
