Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 Do we have a date set for the waiver draft? I'm going to be away for a month starting Feb 20th (but I'll e-mail picks so I dont stall the clock too much). If anyone wants to swap MiLB picks for my waiver picks (such as 16th overall) hit me up.

I am on vacation Feb 14th-20th. We should probably make the keeper deadline before that. Normally we don't do the waiver draft until Yahoo opens so people can add their dudes as they go. Also, since we are able to draft unowned prospects that have hit AA, it helps to wait until Yahoo opens because the prospects that they put in their system are kind of random. So I'm not sure yet. Hmmm.

SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 When people are away do they not have access to internet once or twice a day? Seems pretty odd given how easily wifi is accessible
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 When people are away do they not have access to internet once or twice a day? Seems pretty odd given how easily wifi is accessible Really depends where they are. Say down south somewhere, wifi isn't always available.
King Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I'll take Alex Reyes. wrong thread m8
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 When people are away do they not have access to internet once or twice a day? Seems pretty odd given how easily wifi is accessible Really depends on the type of traveling you're doing though even when you do have wifi access, you quite simply have better things to do.

Finding 15 minutes per day isn't really that difficult to do but I get it if you're in different areas of the world where it's not as easy to do. Anyway, I digress...seems like it will be difficult to match every single person as everyone travels at different times in feb/march
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 If you're in Cuba I can vouch for your inaccessibility to the internet, lol @ Wi-Fi.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 If I were on vacation, I wouldn't spare even a moment for fantasy baseball, or for anything else besides vacation-y things, for that matter. I would hope everyone else would do the same.
Laika Community Moderator Posted January 18, 2016 Author Posted January 18, 2016 I'm not really concerned about accommodating everyone. Just me, since I'm the commissioner and have to kind of run the thing
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I did the BBDL draft from a hotel in Jamaica forgot about the time difference and ended up with Prince Fielder first round

I would hope everyone else would do the same. If I'm sitting in a hotel room at the end of the day and there's an opportunity to do fantasy stuff, that's fine but I prefer to plan like I'm going to be off the grid the whole time and for others to not have high expectations about my availability. That's just what works best. On some trips, you find yourself with way more idle time than you expected but sometimes you really don't have any. Going to be a driver for a group of professional photographers on an Iceland trip. Should be a time.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Iceland was great. I went there in February and it was warmer than Toronto at the time. I ate some Minke whale.

Seems pretty odd given how easily wifi is accessible Ultimately depends on the quality of the wifi at the hostel. Most of them are pretty good these days and can support some kind of connection. There will also be wacky draft windows based on time zone difference.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I drafted for the LOD minor league while on vacay in Cali (so LOTS of available wifi). Wouldn't recommend it in any way. I was trying to relax, but kept having to look over f***ing fantasy s***. If we can, accommodate peeps if they are away.

Even though the league is fun, dealing with drafts is actually a f*** load of work lol Preparing for and following along with a draft is more like a chore
