Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 I wonder if Swihart and Vazquez will share time. Vasquez is terrible, so I doubt it. Swihart had a .350 wOBA in the 2nd half, pretty damn good for a rookie catcher who got thrown into the deep end.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 When North comes around he can tell you all about the merits of Brandon Drury This is truly incredible. I get a bunch of interesting guys who you were going to cut due to lack of room (helps both of us) for a very minor SP downgrade, and the reaction is incredible. Do you guys not follow baseball?
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 C - Weiters 1B - Cron or Mauer 2B - Rendon 3B - Longoria SS - Saurez CF - Gomez OF - Upton OF - Jones Util - Stanton BN - DeShields BN - Taylor SP - Strasburg SP - Teheran SP - Ross SP - Wood SP - Eickhoff SP - Hahn SP - Boyd or Foltynewicz RP - Rondon RP - Caminero I'd really like to trade one of my OFers(not named Stanton) to get a 1B, or maybe another good starter. Gonna look for a good RP or 2 maybe. I'll wait until the prices drop on those though.

Kang going down really hurts my MIF depth. Need to find a 1B who doesn't suxx.

Yeah it's no mystery that a guy like Revere actually helps your offense quite a bit. Drury is basically a top 100 fantasy prospect. 55 hit + 55 power for an infielder in Arizona is pretty attractive. He hit .302, .299, and .303 the last three years in the minors and had a .200 ISO in 2014 and 2013... De La Rosa is similarly interesting as a MLB roster "prospect". 13th hardest FB in the majors last year for starters, gets swinging strikes, and has standout offspeed pitches. Hammel is pretty underrated, I guess. Sometimes Coors Field can leave a stink on a guy. Now that he's in Chicago the package is very attractive. Not unlike the STL version of John Lackey, who people seem to appreciate.

Cyborg Verified Member Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Boxy, I need a sales pitch for Carlos Santana. OBP god. He's also lightyears better than Shaffer and Singleton.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 OBP god. He's also lightyears better than Shaffer and Singleton. This is undeniable.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 I really don't know what to do with Singleton... he looks soooooooooooo bad in the MLB but then goes down and plays well at AAA, getting on base and hitting jacks. I really dropped the ball calling him up, but I thought I was safe when he got that extension.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Boxy, I need a sales pitch for Carlos Santana. Idk what to tell you. He's got a pretty intriguing profile as a guy who could just explode at any time. Dealt with back issues this year that suppressed his power and likely added to his pop up problem. Doesn't strike out much, might have the best eye in the game. He's one of those guys to buy low on due to injury. If he's healthy, I could see him put up 30+ homers with a godly OBP as a full time 1B. Soooo...if you're selling him I'll trade for him too, lol

This is probably because he's forced to stop smoking pot when he goes to the minors.
Laika Community Moderator Posted November 18, 2015 Author Posted November 18, 2015 Perfect. I anticipate the flood of offers. If anyone has a C to dangle, I'd love to move Santana for him. Even if the talent doesn't line up exactly, I can accept a good prospect or add Ubaldo/Anderson to close any value gaps. I'll also consider trading him for sexy prospects.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Whichever one of you losers doesn't get Carlos Santana and his .230 AVG/(data missing)/.400 SLG, come talk to me and we can cut a reasonable deal for Pujols.

It seems like it would make sense for me to deal Longoria to one of you two. edit: You 2 wanna start a bidding war?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 2014 & 2015 Santana - .231/.361/.411, .342 wOBA 2014 & 2015 Cervelli - .296/.370/.409, .345 wOBA Anybody want a guy who's the same age as Santana, gets on base MORE, and actually still has C eligibility?

Cervelli is like peak Carlos Ruiz, reincarnated. He'll be a nice waiver draft target for me if I can't land a better C this offseason.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 I wonder if this will actually work I'm not actually trying to sell Cervelli, just poking holes in NJH's trade value as he continually tries to do with Pujols. Santana has a fabulous walk rate and a dogshit batting average, the end result is that he's not the OBP monster you might think he is. It's fine if you wan't to settle for a sub-.800 OPS at 1B though, and 18-20 HR.

Laika Community Moderator Posted November 18, 2015 Author Posted November 18, 2015 It's not hard to poke holes in a guy whose last name is literally Poo Holes. Ok, that was bad.

If he put up last year's numbers while healthy, I'm staying far away but for me, as a non-doctor or anything of the sort, it seems like his issues very much paint the picture of back problems. Not to equate the two, but this was the first year Santana was a full time 1B, and he was hurt. We saw what Victor Martinez did after he got out from behind the plate, and while Santana doesn't have his exceptional contact ability, he has a better eye and more power. There's no way I'm closing the book on this guy. And yeah, I own him and am trying to trade him in the BBDL but it's not because I want to. I actually feel like I'm going to lose the trade where I deal him big time but I have Rizzo, Bird, V-Mart and Santana for 2 spots. I am considering just keeping him and waiting for him to prove me right but that will take time and people may not believe anyway.
