BTS Community Moderator Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 Do you find Southern European men with .500 Slugging sexy? Incredibly so. As long as they're not Italian.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 It's going to be pretty hilarious next year when Colabello hits .240 and washes out of the majors, and all my casual friends are super confused and disappointed.

Exactly. Colabello's .330 average is unsustainable, whereas Smoak's .220 average is very sustainable. He's been hitting around there, his entire major league career.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 Not sure what Smoak has to do with this, I doubt anyone has high expectations for him.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 I could trade Miller or Gyorko for a reasonably sexy OF, SP, or prospect. No. Gyorko is still awful. Walking less and striking out more than ever. The SS eligibility is nice, but it's not like 2B was in abundant supply. And no, I'm not a bitter former Gyorko owner.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 I think he'll spend significant time in AAA before July. Did they burn up his final option this year? Jays took him off of the 40 man in February so I'm not sure if his April minor league time counts.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 No. Gyorko is still awful. Walking less and striking out more than ever. The SS eligibility is nice, but it's not like 2B was in abundant supply. And no, I'm not a bitter former Gyorko owner. He's gonna go 25/60/80 300/410 next year and be a clean top-10 shortstop. Love the Jerk. Edit: Just realized how frustrating it must be that Gyorko is raking while you're using Alexei Ramirez and Cesar Hernandez for your playoff run.

Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 he's still an upgrade for me sadly. Why oh why didn't I sell high on Segura. Yeah I shouldn't be talking either. I'm running a horrible duo of Cesar Hernandez/Alexei Ramirez out there.
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 11, 2015 Author Posted September 11, 2015 Just an FYI to all players: if you are about to make a SS trade with NJH...I will better his deal. Remember when Mean Jean had like a ~40 O-Rank last year? Or was it the year before? Nice hold there, you old geez
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 Could have sworn we had one in previous years, no? I wouldn't really know, since I've never missed the playoffs. Ouch.
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 11, 2015 Author Posted September 11, 2015 Could have sworn we had one in previous years, no? I wouldn't really know, since I've never missed the playoffs. You're probably just thinking of the mini consolation round for playoff teams. Yahoo brackets every playoff team into 3 matches, so we always have 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th place games. It's nice because I think anybody in the playoffs would rather finish 5th than 8th. There's some pride there. So even if you lost R1 you can still set your lineups and beat some of your rivals and least favourite people in the playoffs. Next year when I set up the league I'll check for a true consolation option. I don't think I've seen it before. It wouldn't affect draft pick standings, obviously.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 Poor FeatherD Severino getting bombed basically seals a jaysblue win in round 1.

Laika Community Moderator Posted September 12, 2015 Author Posted September 12, 2015 Christian Arroyo isn't a legal add, Spank
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 Poor FeatherD Severino getting bombed basically seals a jaysblue win in round 1. I have a sliver of hope left. I need to sweep all the pitching categories. It's unlikely because he still has Greink, but it's possible.
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 12, 2015 Author Posted September 12, 2015 Bench a double header from Ben Revere because I need HR/RBI and that's it. Ben Revere hits a homer.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Two straight rainouts for CLE-DET means that Carrasco's Sunday start just got bumped to Monday. That's a big blow for the defending champ.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Meanwhile, MadBum has a PG going through 7.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Holds and K's for FTD to deliver the knockout to Jaysblue. Time to drop those starters and pick up Indian and Tiger relievers for that double header.

I need a Greinke implosion. Super unlikely.. but PLEASE.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Christian Arroyo isn't a legal add, Spank Oh, is he still eligible for the draft, I'll drop him, sorry. Or you've done it for me...
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Jacoby Ellsbury doing his absolute best to blow this for me, giving me a .160/.125 line over about 4,000 PAs. Do I bench him today and play the much hotter Francisco Cervelli? Cervelli could give me a bit of production, but I'm tied in the categories where Ellsbury is supposed to excel (R, SB).

Wow has Ellsbury's stock really fallen that low? Struggling to stay in the lineup for the likes of Francisco Cervelli (although to be fair Cervelli has nice ratios this year). It's amazing how much value he's lost in the last year. Practically everyone thought you fleeced KK at the time.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 He was playing well until he got hurt this year, but he's not helping lately. Cervelli is actually a good hitter, his OBP is sick.
TRM Verified Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 I'm so f***ed. Congrats to NJH
