I don't pay you nearly enough for what you do.

Ahem:

Age-36 is scary. It has claimed Werth, V-Mart, and Beltre this year.

Nope. Beltre's fine, 124 wRC+ in the second half. Werth is still projected pretty well too, and V-Mart has an injury history himself; his previous 2 years to 2014 were very worrisome and there was no way he was repeating the HR/FB. So I'd say Holliday is a good bet to rebound.

idk, maybe it's the age and the .130 ISO

Well I'm sorry you feel that way Mr. I'm-Too-Good-For-A-.409-OBP

Isn't he also back on the DL? I wouldn't count on him playing again this year.

I'm not trying to trade him to anyone who needs him this year.

Can someone remind me how yahoo's position eligibility works year-to-year? Will Gyorko's 5 starts at short get him SS eligibility next year?

Or no. Can I interest you in one Erick Aybar?

If you earn it this year, you have it next year.

I think it's 5 starts or 10 games for batters, 3 starts or 5 relief for pitchers.

Yes, 5 starts or 10 games played gets eligibility. But they have altered players eligibility before on players (ie. not allowing eligibility even if they made the requirements) but usually only on MiLB players.

Yeah, Yahoo sometimes doesn't follow the rules.

Deadline deal:

Souza + Anibal to Torontofan

Brett Anderson + Fowler to me

Clearly a win for Torontofan. His team was playoff calibre this year, just missed out, and now he's already made a big rotation upgrade for 2016 while also adding a 20/20 talent.

My favourite thing about the two guys that I got is that they aren't currently on the DL. Aside from that, Fowler kind of sort of helps out in some categories that I suck at.

I was in on Fowler, but I see why he had went in this direction.

Makes sense for you also.

I don't really see how Anibal is a big upgrade on Brett Anderson going forward.

Maybe a bit more likely to stay healthy? Pretty similar though IMO.

I need to open up a roster spot. Aybar or Iglesias available for a pick upgrade. Rajai Davis too. PM me if you want any of them.

I guess just health. Anderson made 32 starts TOTAL from 2011 to 2014, while Anibal made 113 and amassed 16.1 fWAR.

They project for fairly equal skill but Anibal should have more K's and a better K/BB, so that's more tailored for the DDL

Anyone want to maybe swap a holds guy for part-time closer Kevin Jepsen?

Jake Arrieta was the #8 player in Yahoo before his masterpiece tonight.

It's crazy that Baltimore and Jaysblue got rid of him when they did.

Never understood that from Baltimore's perspective. Their rotation has been garbage for like 15 years.
