z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 I'm curious what you guys think, is Tim Anderson a guy? have a chance to check out my PM?
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 19, 2015 Author Posted August 19, 2015 I'm curious what you guys think, is Tim Anderson a guy? Probably not. Peripherals aren't very good. BB% around 4, K% > 20, not hitting for any power. He looks like an Alcides/Segura type right now
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 so the trade tracker on the google doc is dead? It would be a lot of work so I understand it, just wondering.

It's North's baby. He'll probably do a bulk update at some point. The rest of us barely have the attention span to click "allow trade" on Yahoo.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 I'm curious what you guys think, is Tim Anderson a guy? yeah I think he's got more fantasy upside than real life. Brad Miller'esk numbers upside...minus the BB rate.
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 19, 2015 Author Posted August 19, 2015 yeah I think he's got more fantasy upside than real life. Brad Miller'esk numbers upside...minus the BB rate. They seem like wildly different players. I'd go with "present day Jose Reyes" upside.

KingKat has years on me...and a cat. We might lose the whole board some drunken night.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 They seem like wildly different players. I'd go with "present day Jose Reyes" upside. Not bad. I like Anderson's power better than it's showing. Regions Field is huge (not nearly like old Regions Field but still yields few homers).
TRM Verified Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 They seem like wildly different players. I'd go with "present day Jose Reyes" upside. more SBs likely, but not a bad comp. 2013 Jean Segura is my closest comp.
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 19, 2015 Author Posted August 19, 2015 more SBs likely, but not a bad comp. 2013 Jean Segura is my closest comp. Yeah, if Anderson can get on base enough he probably has the speed to steal 40+. Segura is a good comp because he's already displayed his upside and his hacky downside.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 BIRD with two big flies today! Soar, young man!
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 19, 2015 Author Posted August 19, 2015 Suddenly, Boxy's Rodon for Bird+ trade doesn't look that bad... I think the Boxy joke might be over. His 2016 rotation already looks very solid and now he might have a few offensive pieces to frustrate his opponents too, in Correa, Bird, Reddick, and maybe Winker.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Suddenly, Boxy's Rodon for Bird+ trade doesn't look that bad... Me and Boxy were the only guys in the league who thought that was an even trade from the get-go. Bird can hit.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Me and Boxy were the only guys in the league who thought that was an even trade from the get-go. Bird can hit. I liked it for Boxy.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 I think the Boxy joke might be over. I hope so, I'm looking forward to cocky/vengeful Boxy.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Also, Blackburn could be the next Heston for the Giants, so there's quite a bit of profit potential for Boxy here.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 And the best part is, if Bird becomes a star, I get to brag about stat-scouting him from here until eternity.
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 19, 2015 Author Posted August 19, 2015 And the best part is, if Bird becomes a star, I get to brag about stat-scouting him from here until eternity. Nope. Only if you'd kept him.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Nope. Only if you'd kept him. That's BS. He wasn't on a single Top 100 and I plucked him from obscurity!
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Dietrich Howie Kendrick owners everywhere are jizzing their pants at this turn of good fortune. Would you say he's the next Zobrist? Or the next Utley? I can't decide.
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 19, 2015 Author Posted August 19, 2015 That's BS. He wasn't on a single Top 100 and I plucked him from obscurity! But then you got cold feet and traded him for a scout-scout guy who can't throw strikes.... nothing to brag about, bro.

BTS Community Moderator Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Guys, Choo has a 110 wRC+ on the season and 123 since May 1st. He's good again, and not one person has asked about him.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 But then you got cold feet and traded him for a scout-scout guy who can't throw strikes.... nothing to brag about, bro. I didn't get cold feet, I already have like 17 old 1Bs and I really coveted Rodon.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Nope. Only if you'd kept him. That's BS. He wasn't on a single Top 100 and I plucked him from obscurity! I'd side with NJH here. You get 0(zero) credit.

I could use him. My entire OF is on the DL; Souza and Dickerson are probably done for the year and Gordon isn't a good bet to have any significant impact in September even if he's off the DL.
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 19, 2015 Author Posted August 19, 2015 I didn't get cold feet, I already have like 17 old 1Bs and I really coveted Rodon. If you trade someone away that ends up being really good, then you're only allowed to lament the loss of them. These are the rules. I didn't write them.
