I'd like to package Nate Karns and an outfielder (Denard Span, Logan Morrison or Austin Jackson) for a single player. Failing that I'd like to open up a roster spot using one of the OFs.

Even Wil Myers is being wasted though - being miscast as a CF is eating a huge chunk of his value. They've gone the Mariners route, just more reckless.

It's true, it felt like their GM was a casual fan or something. Pretty obvious that it would be a massacre.

 

As a multi-league Upton owner, I cannot wait for this (although he is currently mashing)

It's awful, I would be interested to see what their process was to come up with that horrible defensive OF. I'm guessing it was not very thorough and completely blind to obvious issues.

Most reasonable explanation for San Diego's offseason is a meddling owner.

 

What's hilarious is the praise that Preller was getting in the offseason for all of those moves. The Kemp trade might be the worst trade in baseball history, other than Ruth for cash.

The Kimbrel trade may been been even worse. Just oozed with bad process.

 

They're paying $56M for two years of Kimbrel (rolling in Upton's salary) and gave up a top prospect for the privilege. Lol nothing would make me happier than to see Kimbrel blow up, as relievers are wont to do.

 

I hate most of what Jon Hart has done in Atlanta, but that was a fantastic trade -- shades of Vernon Wells.
