Laika Community Moderator Posted April 3, 2015 Author Posted April 3, 2015 I'm obviously biased, but even impartially I think it's cool as f*** the MLB is standing behind Hamilton and his struggles. They're not though. MLB wanted to bring down the hammer, it went to an arbitrator and MLB lost. Then MLB got a little dig in after the fact and said that they will look to make changes to the CBA as a result. Not cool as f***!
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 On the flip side, he's never actually done ^ that in his career, he doesn't have big upside, and he's 36. Probably closer to 50th than 25th suck eggs
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 I for one am shocked you'd take a counterculture stance, AG. And I'm quite surprised, your main contribution is a curt, snippy little reply.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Did king thank that post yet? I can't help it, it's my thing! Nope, just NJH.
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Yeah. I don't particularly like Hamilton as a person (from what I've seen/read anyway) but suspending him long term seems more like bullying at this point than actually trying to help him out. He's also not good enough for me to care that much about him being back to help Silvergun.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Well the arbitrator is clearly the boss here, my mistake! I was following less closely with him banged up anyway. The arbitrator is probably looking for a new job too. Isn't that what happened with the last one that gave the MLB an outcome they didn't like?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 The arbitrator is probably looking for a new job too. Isn't that what happened with the last one that gave the MLB an outcome they didn't like? lol...yes.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Haha oh yeah, that was for Braun right? They were piiiiissed about that whole thing. Yeah, that was it, Selig blew his top, lol. I wonder if this guy stays employed under the MLB's shiny new commissioner in Manfred, I'd say yes because Selig was criticized for that meltdown. HAH!!
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 3, 2015 Author Posted April 3, 2015 Same arbitrator could potentially have a Kris Bryant inspired MLBPA grievance on his hands some time soon too
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Braun looks beastly this spring, can't wait for the season to start!
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 3, 2015 Author Posted April 3, 2015 Braun looks beastly this spring, can't wait for the season to start! It's going to be funny later this season when Waino breaks down and Harvey+Braun are both killing it old school.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 It's going to be funny later this season when Waino breaks down and Harvey+Braun are both killing it old school. Jose Fernandez is also tied into this bizarre trade orgy.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 3, 2015 Author Posted April 3, 2015 Jose Fernandez is also tied into this bizarre trade orgy. quite the monster. three examples of bad mechanics + a cryogenic thumb
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Braun looks beastly this spring, can't wait for the season to start! He had a 1.306 OPS last spring and a 150 wRC+ through May last year. The problem has been that the thumb wears down with repeated use.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 quite the monster. three examples of bad mechanics + a cryogenic thumb Throw Archie Bradley's bad mechanics into all of this he is what I got for the throw-in on the Dinger deal.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 3, 2015 Author Posted April 3, 2015 Throw Archie Bradley's bad mechanics into all of this he is what I got for the throw-in on the Dinger deal. yeah I see a few red flags with Bradley. sheet says you got Archie for Carp
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 yeah I see a few red flags with Bradley. sheet says you got Archie for Carp Yeah it was J Fern and Carp for Waino and Pujols.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 as much as that was a great deal for me, I'm glad that I am old and can't remember the early deals I was offered for Pujols that I turned down cause I thought my team was a contender back in year one. I know there were a lot of offers.
