Well I'm not drunk yet Spanky, I'm sorry, but I can't understand you at this point in time.

Gotcha!

Well, we were drunk and realized we were getting hosed, we'll always have that?!

I think that Coco Crisp is going to be a very frustrating player to own.

He's a serviceable third outfielder when healthy; much more power than other speed-first guys.

I got a rotation of Sale, Harvey, Scherzer, Fernandez (+Walker/Norris) in my TWELVE team redraft this year (7x7). Play with a bunch of guys that just don't draft pitching early. I got that rotation and still got Stanton and Hanley with my first 2 picks. I also got a good share of this years crop of sleepers with Walker, Pearce, Zobrist (not a sleeper, but under-rated with SS eligibility). Plus some other nice bats (Holliday, Napoli, Moss, Alverez, and Belt) AND Bryant.

I think this is my year!!!

*edit* PS, not trying to 'out-do' just noticed a bunch of the same players on our teams so I thought I would post.

Drafting pitchers early is dumn

Why do you think that?

Because you get far more bang for your buck by taking pitchers late.

Examples: John Lackey, Brandon McCarthy, Collin McHugh, Phil Hughes, Mike Fiers, Jose Fernandez will all provide solid #2 numbers at a very reduced draft price.

More than that, you want your top picks to be safe investments.

Also, no pitchers contribute in every category and some hitters do!

Hitters contribute in Ks and SVs?

Well 50% of your 'points' come from hitters, and 50% of your 'points' come from pitchers.

So, they should have equal weighting.

It's really about the divide between your pick, and the next best pick.

You have to decide if there's a bigger gap between Mike Trout and Giancarlo Stanton (or whoever you think #2 is) or if there's a bigger gap between Clayton Kershaw and Max Scherzer (or whoever you think #2 is).

And sure, in our 7x7 leagues, there are guys who will help in all seven. But someone like Kershaw can absolutely dominate in three categories, as oppose to merely contribute.

I tend to draft pitchers more in the first couple of rounds, simply because everyone else tends to draft hitters and the pitchers are underdrafted.

And there are plenty of late bargains on the hitting front too, such as: all of my players.

Three of my players got demoted :(

Good thing I didn't hang on to NA stash AJ Cole

Good pitchers tend to linger much longer than good hitters, in my experience. I got Lackey in the PL between Yasmani Tomas and Jhonny Peralta. That's a top 25 starter. I took my first SP in round 6 and ended up with a quite good staff.

Lackey top 25 does not seem correct

3.55 ERA 1.19 WHIP 3.57 K/BB ~160 so in ~200 innings projected. He's pretty good.

On the flip side, he's never actually done ^ that in his career, he doesn't have big upside, and he's 36.

Probably closer to 50th than 25th
