Laika Community Moderator Posted February 9, 2015 Author Posted February 9, 2015 That's me in the FC Byron Buxton Kris Bryant Lucas Giolito Daniel Norris Jameson Taillon Hunter Renfroe Kyle Freeland Michael Conforto Jeff Hoffman Top 3 are rare, elite prospects. Next 2 are premium assets, major league ready. The next 4 have solid value and upside. Well done!

Well done! I remember making that deal for Bryant before he was huge, and you complimented me and said those are the moves to get out of the basement. I would prefer another closer to Ike Davis, but since that's LaTroy Hawkins, I guess not.
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Good team! I would prefer another closer to Ike Davis, but since that's LaTroy Hawkins, I guess not. Thx. Thought about going 3 relievers, but I don't trust Butler at all, and Davis' career 0.353 wOBA vs. RHP could go a long way to covering Util if country breakfast legit sucks now.

Yea I remember trading Fister+ Billy Hamilton for the pick I used to draft Bryant. I thought I was overpaying at the time but it worked out in the end
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 what was the deal? Andrus for Gregorious and Bryant 2012 or 13'

Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Looking to trade a mediocre SP for a mediocre OF. One of Gallardo/Santana/Weaver/Verlander. I would also listen on an OF for one of Cueto/Zimmermann trade.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Lol pwned! To our friendly neighborhood "Dickhead", I liked getting Gattis from him as well...
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 I'll trade Jason Vargas for an MiLB pick upgrade. He's my only probable cut that has value.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 If anybody is going to cut their s*****, busted ass prospects, give me a shout. I might give a late pick for a couple of them -- better something than nothing!

If you see something you like send a message.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 I am making my cuts very shortly, so is anyone interested in Eddie Butler? He's probably big league ready but I'd prefer to have an extra roster spot. I'd be looking for a slightly lesser prospect who can stay on the farm. Also one last kick at the can for Coghlan, JBJ, Hellickson and Luebke.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Silvergun sold me two of my cuts. f***ing guy. Though he did give me Norris+ for Odorizzi...
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 (edited) What do you guys think are your worst trades so far in DDL? Three stand out for me so far: David Price for Shin-Soo Choo (and assorted picks/nothing prospects) I badly wanted a CF and had long coveted Choo. I still think I wouldn't have regretted this one if Choo had been in 2013 form. Yordano Ventura and Lucas Giolito for James Shields At the time, Giolito hadn't returned from TJS, and although I strongly felt he would be an elite prospect, his value had far from peaked. I like Ventura a lot too, but at the time it wasn't apparent he was going to help as more than a RP in the near future, and I wanted to add Shields for a playoff push. If I had won a championship, I wouldn't have regretted it... but here we are. I really hope Giolito is the ace he appears to be though, and I can still laugh at some of the awful selections that were taken ahead of him in the initial draft (Mason Williams, Bruce Rondon, Delino Deshields, Bubba Starling, Danny Hultzen, among others). James Shields for Cliff Lee Apparently James Shields is my fantasy kryptonite. Lee broke (again) immediately after this acquisition, and contributed nothing to me, while Shields helped North to a championship. And then he signed with San Diago! BTS Community Moderator Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Trading Neil Walker for a couple of picks to make room for Gyorko in season 1, and trading Archer for a 1st stand out.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Trading Neil Walker for a couple of picks to make room for Gyorko in season 1, and trading Archer for a 1st stand out. If it makes you feel any better, I squandered Archer too. Essentially, I needed to use him to turn Freddie Freeman into... Jose Bautista? Ugh.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Archer for a 1st isn't really that bad. Like, it's bad, but if that's one of your worst deals you probably haven't made many awful deals.
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Is Spanky allowed to post his Bautista for Niese + Despaigne + garbage trade that Dinger and I narrowly stopped him from making?

We did a good thing that day. Actually, I think that trade worked out pretty well for all involved. And we got to spite njh!
