GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 It really wasn't difficult to figure out
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Pathetic. Could you just stop while your ahead? This is completely unnecessary. It's like you're looking for a confrontation.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 So after trading Salazar for Belt before the season... I might be looking to move Belt for a starter again. He's had two freak injuries this year (hit in the hand, and hit in the mellon), but both Steamer and ZiPS have him as a 125+ wRC+ guy, and he's just 26 years old. I'm looking for a pretty good young starter here.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Poor Belt, outside of hand injuries (yikes) a horrible concussion like that has to be one of the toughest things to fully recover from. I see what you're doing here, and I don't like it.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Poor Belt, outside of hand injuries (yikes) a horrible concussion like that has to be one of the toughest things to fully recover from. I was about to offer Kershaw for him, but your insightful comment has now detered my interest. Thanks man.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Could you just stop while your ahead? This is completely unnecessary. It's like you're looking for a confrontation. You are the worst.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Is this the BBDL thread? Silvergun slumming it in the gutters.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Just the facts, ma'am. Besides you've talked plenty of s*** about my trade bait in the past, and my chances of being the worst person in this thread today are minuscule at best. Have I? and lol
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 CarGo post aside, those are pretty week. Dig deeper. Also, Yelich is so studly.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 CarGo post aside, those are pretty week. Dig deeper. Also, Yelich is so studly. Wow, you wouldn't deal Yelich for CarGo?! Lmfao no wonder your offense.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 A-psssh, you were actively dissing the guys I was trying to trade, while I merely posted facts and expressed concern about poor Belt. Just as a side note, there's no way I'll deal Junior Lake for Edwin man, piss off already!
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Wow, you wouldn't deal Yelich for CarGo?! Lmfao no wonder your offense. I wouldn't. Yelich is a borderline top-50 player in our format this year at 22, and I expect him to grow into more power. He's really, really good and has 6 years and health on CarGo. I don't think Gonzalez is going to age gracefully.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 And CarGo in decent health is a top 5 player.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 You are the worst. According to the league standings, you are!
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 And CarGo in decent health is a top 5 player. Just off the top of my head, I'd still take these guys over CarGo when healthy in dynasty: Trout Miguel Cabrera Stanton Cutch Tulo Goldy Harper Braun Votto
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 And CarGo in decent health is a top 5 player. Maybe, but betting on his health from 29 onward when he's averaged less than 120 games per year since breaking into the league is probably not a good idea. And so much of his value is tied to Coors. He's a 115-120 wRC+ guy. Good, but not outstanding. I dunno, I just don't trust him long-term.
Randy The Robot Verified Member Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Yup. Not going to name names, though one is a pretty prominent and active member on this board. Hey man you should co manage with me in the BBDL(I think that's it) I have one of the best teams but need someone else for when I'm away. And I like you.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Wow, you wouldn't deal Yelich for CarGo?! Lmfao no wonder your offense. I'd likely deal Yelich for a healthy CarGo. I don't think Yelich at his peak ever reaches CarGo's level. The thing I like about Yelich is the kid knows how to get on-base and he'll likely grow into some more power down the road.

jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Adam Lind has to be one of the most frustrating players to own fantasy wise. Stop lacing like drives everywhere and hit the fuxkkng ball over the f***ing fence

GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Jaysblue, I don't like you, but you at least seem like a normal human being, so just trust me and everyone else (Especially North) and don't co-manage for him GD's 1:30 AM words of wisdom
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Rip on the health if you like, but his 174 wRC+ on the road last year shut up a lot of people leaning on that argument. It shouldn't have. A one-season split like that is pretty meaningless. He has a 0.324 wOBA on the road in his career, and has a career 121 wRC+. Steamer has him at 120 and ZiPS 116. That's worse than Billy Butler and Brandon Belt. He's good, but he loses a ton of value outside Coors. And that's beside the fact that he's probably going to play less than 75% of the schedule in a given season.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Lol, I love that you mixed in wOBA when it fit your argument, yet reverted back to wRC+ to make comparisons despite the fact, y'know, they have to hit where they play. I used wOBA because wRC+ is a silly way to look at the effect Coors has had on his performance. Though now that I check, his 101 road wRC+ is legitimately bizarre. Anyway, the point is that his value is tied to Coors, and it really isn't debateable.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Did the board just have a minor collapse or was that just me?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Did the board just have a minor collapse or was that just me? for like 15 seconds
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 North should get in on this since his boy Kemp is basically CarGo with better health and a worse home park.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Just off the top of my head, I'd still take these guys over CarGo when healthy in dynasty: Trout Miguel Cabrera Stanton Cutch Tulo Goldy Harper Braun Votto That is why you run a treadmill team.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Whatever mang, people said the same thing about Holliday and he was just fine. I guess I can't blame you for clinging to wRC+ when your lineup is littered with KC, SF, TB and LAA hitters. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm kind of busy getting demolished this week. Holliday was a much better hitter than Gonzalez is though. True talent 140 wRC+ guy when he left Coors. He maintained that after leaving, with obviously a much smaller wOBA. Cargo will still be good if he leaves, you'd just expect him to produce like a Melky Cabrera who plays 115 games a year. Solid, but not elite.
