Exactly. In a redraft league rn I take CarGo pretty easily but Yelich in a dynasty league is a really valuable commodity imo.

I like Yelich and think he's a guy you can build around and all that, but he doesn't have the explosive upside of CarGo.

 

Also, Yelich is an extreme ground ball hitter (63.3% career) so he'll need to make serious changes to his swing and approach to hit for good power.

I feel like people forget sometimes that Yelich isn't even 23 until December and still has a 117 wRC+ through almost 750 PA. Kid can hit. Wouldn't be surprising to see him have a good run of J.D. Drew type seasons.

I'm going to toot my horn a little on Greg Bird. No one pays him much mind because he's a 1B prospect, but he's got pop and he walks a ton. I could see him quietly becoming a LaRochian bat for the Stankees. He's 21 and doing some damage in AA, and he's never had a wRC+ below 133 at any level.

 

At the very least, it's safe to say he'll have a better career than Jesse Winker.
