The other guy running the expansion Canes is a good friend of mine. I always wanted to get back in, I only left cause I basically lost internet when in Europe on exchange, so I'm first on the waiting list and am comanaging with David through the difficult task of joining and immediately doing the tough navigation of the expansion until a spot opens up.

Picked up Kulemin and Grabo for 4th rounders, took on a bunch of questionable contracts for picks, traded up to first overall for Reinhart.

It's not so much that Moss is a "great player". It's more that a late first rounder and Almonte seems like a weak return. I think Moss' floor is close to .330/.500/13 HR/40 RBI the rest of the way. That's solid production, and it's even better if you can afford to platoon him (being an extreme splits hitter). Then there's upside that maybe he really has improved his approach against lefties. At 31, he should have at least a few more productive years.

 

It's possible that I'm underrating Almonte. I see him as a fringe top 100 prospect. If others value him more, it makes sense why there's a difference in opinions. By no means am I saying it was robbery, I was just surprised he wasn't shopped around (especially given how much Gonzalez was).

I think the trading process on Yahoo involving players should just be once a deal is confirmed, the deal gets processed automatically instead of waiting for a commissioner to process it. I would have liked to have used the doubleheader for Nelson Cruz today and the start by Tillman, which now I won't be able to.

It's happened to me as well, the risk you run completing late-night trades.

 

Trade was accepted around 10:30-11 I believe, so it wasn't that late. I'm just saying that if it didn't have to have a commissioner approval to process it, the deal would have taken into effect for today. I don't see why we need a commissioner approval involving players through Yahoo, since there is really no weak link in this league.
