Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 BTS: 18, 16, 17, 20, 12, 1, 10, 19, 2, 3 = 11.8 average strength of schedule Sammy: 10, 13, 4, 14, 8, 9, 2, 3, 11, 15 = 8.9 ASOS me: 7, 18, 1, 12, 4, 15, 16, 6, 19, 5 = 10.3 ASOS Glad to see I apparently don't have the toughest road ahead, but facing Dinger is probably reflected poorly in only a "1," heh (no offense FTD!) e: This is actually pretty worthless other than to point out BTS' cupcake schedule! The thing is any team from 1-12 is going to be tough..... I am really looking forward to week 20 when we have a showdown. Could be a make or break kind of a match. Unfortunately i don't get BTS again. Thought i would get him twice.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 I'm basking in my 63 game lead over Boxy. My goal is to stretch it to 100 by season's end.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 I've been getting unlucky. Knew it.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 I've got a division sandwich to finish the season, you and BTS with Havok as the filling (who I was lucky to tie earlier iirc.) Really looks like it will come down to the line. I Know this is a lot better then battling out for 16th last season lol. Still I need to make some additions..... I got my eye on a couple guys lol.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Ben Badler @BenBadler 45m Bryce Harper is rehabbing tonight with High-A Potomac. He's still the third-youngest player on that team. Yay...and lol
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 It would help if you had an offensive lynchpin like David Ortiz though. Meh. I'd probably have a worse record with Ortiz and no Lester.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Hey man, wanna trade back? Liriano, Lake for Khrush, Morton. Thief! Scoundrel! Ragamuffin! Khrush was scaring me earlier this season, 1 walk in first 105 PA! Turned it around, should be there for my 2 year re-tool (thx btw)
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Not sure what to make of Khris Davis. I just flipped him and a late 1st for Alex Gordon and Matt Garza in my other league.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 23, 2014 Author Posted June 23, 2014 Not sure what to make of Khris Davis. I just flipped him and a late 1st for Alex Gordon and Matt Garza in my other league. That's a steal. Alex Gordon is looking elite again.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 That's a steal. Alex Gordon is looking elite again. He has sneaky value in leagues that use Hits, in particular.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 23, 2014 Author Posted June 23, 2014 OBP hits leagues, yes. Does a little bit of everything. Sneaky elite.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Not sure what to make of Khris Davis. I just flipped him and a late 1st for Alex Gordon and Matt Garza in my other league. I think he's showing what he is. 115-120 wRC+ guy, below average OBP with good slugging 25 HR
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 (edited) Gibbers strikes again Oops, apparently no one cares about Buster Posey being traded. Edited June 24, 2014 by Boxcar
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I like this deal for Gibbers.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I like this deal for Gibbers. Why?
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Why? He gets the younger assets. I think Myers will out produce Posey as soon as next year. And I'd probably take Profar over Hutch. Not too many 21 yr old SS in the league. Gibbers takes on more risk, but gets the higher ceilings.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Willing to move Cashner for mid-level starter + good prospect

Posey is a top 25 player at a premium position, still in his prime and even as a catcher he gets a lot of ABs. Profar and Myers are not going to touch that. Chacin is nothing special. Throw in Hutch and I don't think the word "robbery" is out of place.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Posey's a beast. Hes the top player at a prime position. I made a decent offer for him as well

He will still continue to be one of the top catchers for a few years though.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I don't know what to think of Myers to be honest. There's a wide range of things he could turn into. If he settles into a .270/.340/.450 line with ~23 bombs (Jay Bruce with more average, less power), then he's not a special type of asset. That's a very possible scenario IMO. But he does have big tools and could be a real impact bat. Profar I don't love, but he could be an above-average middle infielder for a decade. There's value in that. I'd probably take the Posey side.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 24, 2014 Author Posted June 24, 2014 Posey side for the next few years, but catcher attrition is pretty high. I don't think it's unfair. I'm probably a bigger Profar fan than most though.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 IMO it's closer than most think but I still give the edge to the Posey side because I really dislike Profar.
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I made a good offer. Thought I had a good chance, but I didn't have a Myers type of asset to move.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 If anyone is willing to flip a good holds guy for my 3rd rounder, send me a PM and let me know who the guy is.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I don't love Profar or Myers personally but on paper it's a good trade for Gibbers and we've seen him move assetts at just the right time before. Given where he is in the standings, it only makes sense to cash in Posey and it's always better to cash in a little early than late (something Gibbers both preaches and practices regularly). Though I don't like Profar or Myers to live up to their prospect hype, I still like them to provide solid value while Posey's production inevitably declines. One thing that bugs me about his side hwoever is the Hutch part. Maybe this is a sell high window for him but I'm not so sure we've seen the best from Hutch. He was really great in the minors and somewhat paradoxically his early callup probably kept him from generating the kind of prospect hype he deserved and was probably on the cusp of receiving. I thought drafting him was one of Gibber's shrewdest moves and I don't love the idea of moving an under-rated asset like him for likely over-rated assetts like Profar and Myers. That part doesn't really seem to fit with Gibber's m.o. I have to assume he got haggled into it and if so good on Sylvio for giving himself an out should Posey hit the wall.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Anyone want to stash Lindstrom as a saves play? You have to figure he's getting the closer job back since everybody else the ChiSox have tried has been a disaster. I'll move him for a serviceable OF of some variety.
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Anybody believe in Gyorko enough to move something decent for him?
