The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Beltran for V-Mart! Pretty fair trade. Both are the same type of player on the age curve. They both upgraded in positions they were lacking in.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Hurl picked up Micah Johnson, who I own. Also, on the spreadsheet list "Michael" still appears instead of Micah lol. Thanks. I did my due diligence before making the move. I think the move should have been reversed rather than just dropped but in the end it's just Abraham I lost.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Pretty fair trade. Both are the same type of player on the age curve. They both upgraded in positions they were lacking in. I think Spank got hosed
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Not that votes from us plebs matter, but I agree. I mean more for the future rather than this particular move. I would have been making a move anyway. I was honestly lost this morning when I saw I had a roster spot open.

NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I passed Hurl in overall pitching! Absolutely crushing the ratios: 5th, 1st, 2nd. My guys are at an 8.9 K/9 and 2.4 BB/9 clip. Justin Verlander is a career 8.46 and 2.79 guy.

The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Boxy is pretty special. He truly deserves his own tier.

Laika Community Moderator Posted May 5, 2014 Author Posted May 5, 2014 Meh, lateral move for better depth at first, plus V-Mart is a start away from C eligibility as well. *3 starts away I think
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 *3 starts away I think 3 away. He has a shot at getting it in August.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Meh, lateral move for better depth at first, plus V-Mart is a start away from C eligibility as well. Yup, he'll likely get C eligibility next season which would suck on my end ugh. Damn you Spanky.
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 6, 2014 Author Posted May 6, 2014 Need 5 starts or 10 appearances for Yahoo eligibility. He's currently at 2 C starts according to BR, and he's DHing tonight. It was something I was monitoring when thinking of trading for him. Would have upped my offers but his C starts seem to have stalled out (had 2 starts in a 4 day span when Avila was cold, but hasn't been back there for almost a month now). I think at this point, he probably doesn't get 5 starts there, unless Avila gets hurt, which is entirely possible.
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 6, 2014 Author Posted May 6, 2014 Looks like that's what he needs to gain eligibility (P = games to play)
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 I'm sure you were aware, Beltran is going to beast in NY, and he can still steal bags. I think its a great deal for both sides. We both address an area of need without subtracting. Also, I get two pints of Beaus out of this deal, so can't complain
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Jurickson Profar is OTB. I've had one team express interest and has dangled a very good player in his prime. Willing to package Profar to land a stud bat or pitcher (preferably a bat). Also, could move d'Arnaud for any team looking for a young catcher. He's starting to hit right now, so he could be getting ready to go on a tear. Franklin Morales OTB. Solid K/BB ratio and could be a post-hype sleeper in the Rockies rotation. Could move him for a pick or a good setup man.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Dee Gordon currently slashing .347/.381/.449 and on pace for 90+ SB, 80+ R, 200 H, with 2B/SS eligibility. Anybody wanna take a shot on the guy who's doing what Billy Hamilton might do in a best-case scenario? Still on the block.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 I think its a great deal for both sides. You say this after every trade and it's never true.

The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 I'm scared to find out who Silvergun is going to flip Gallo for. Must be better than Liriano + Reed. I guess I should have shopped him around maybe then..
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 He will not be flipped, my love is true, just want to smear myself across that beautiful power. Lol
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 You've been actively looking for pitching, and just traded Liriano and Reed. I expect the other shoe to drop soon. He did get some pitching. He got Peter Parker and RonDon.
torontofan Verified Member Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 I'm looking to trade Sabathia, if anyone wants to get an offer in. Mostly looking for an upgrade with a position player or prospects.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Gallo will never hit in the majors.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Gallo will never hit in the majors. What are you taking about? He's the 3rd base version of Stanton.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Ride this Colby Hot Streak who Knows how long it will last!
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Arenado at least never K'ed at more than 15% at any level. Gallo has K'ed at 33% for his career, which is a virtual death sentence for a hitter. There's just far too much swing and miss for him to ever last against advanced pitching. IMO he'll come crashing back down in AA and fail to hit his body weight in the majors, before eventually becoming a fireballing RP. Arenado is fantasy relevant, but IMO he'll be a 2nd division 3B over the long-term. Career 78 wRC+ away from Coors so far (96 at home). I don't see him consistently topping 20 HR.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Cutting down his 2-strike approach and still K'ing at 25+% in Hi A doesn't bode well.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Any industy insider also told me he has makeup issues (according to a Jays pre-draft report). BUST!
