Looks like I just threw out an opportunity at making the playoffs with a 4-23 record the past two weeks. Tough schedule for me at the end, and despite that my team put up pretty overall solid numbers during those two weeks. Likely against other opponents, I'd still be in the race this week. Oh well.

 

Overall, I like my team heading into next season and moving forward. I got off to a rough start but played better over the summer. I expect my young guys like Profar, Myers, Garcia, Peralta, Turner to take steps forward and I have some solid prospects on the verge such as d'Arnaud, Singleton and Arenado.

Arenado could have helped your playoff push. He has a 100 point OBP advantage over Alvarez over the last month. Everytime I'd look at the free agent pool, I'd wonder why he wasn't active.

Yeah that was some bad luck. My team put up better than usual numbers last week. You probably would have won against 15/18 other teams because you put up great offensive numbers.

 

EDIT: That being said, you still have life. You play the 8 seed this week (ISO Horny) and you're currently 8.5 games back. If you can 12-2 him, you have a pretty good chance of making it.

That's an excellent point that I didn't even think of. Unfortunately I have to face therealmin's juggernaut this week. It's very possible that you beat me out for the 5th spot.

 

I would also match up better against NorthOf49 than dinger. I'm hoping dinger can have a great week and take the #2 seed back.

Should the consolation playoffs count for final standings? (in terms of future draft pick slotting).

 

I don't really think they should. I think teams 9-20 should be slotted based on final regular season standings, and then teams 1-8 will obviously place wherever they end up after the playoffs.

 

What do you guys think? Is there even a consolation playdown for non-playoff teams? I wouldn't really know. Don't think I've ever missed the playoffs in fantasy baseball.
