Booing a player because you disapprove of his jersey number choice? Penguins fans are f***ing dumb.
I don't think anyone should be wearing 66 or 99, but maybe that's because I grew up watching those two play when I was a kid and the biggest hockey freak known to mankind.

Then again, I am a Penguins fan.

It makes no sense that people care about 66 being worn, but 4 and 9 are freely worn without criticism.

I also think 99 shouldn't be retired league wide.

Interesting argument regarding the #4 and #9 thing. But I think most of that has to do with the fate that there have been plenty of HOF players that have worn both numbers, wheras who has really worn #66 or #99 with any conviction?

#4 - Bobby Orr, JEan Beliveau, Red Kelly, Scott Stevens.

#9 - Gordie Howe, Maurice Richard, Bobby Hull.

Isn't that an even stronger argument to retire 4 and 9, if you're making anything off limits?

Scott Stevens lmao

Well...he is a HOF player is my point.

As for retiring numbers, the difference is that one player made 66 and 99 iconic. It's not synonymous with several players.

You're not a Babs fan, at all?

No I just didn't like the usage of the 4th line last night. I didn't think it was a good idea to ice them immediately right after the Leafs tied the game on two different occasions.

Matthews passes my idol for a new Leaf record in rookie goals, we all knew it was coming...:P

To do it this day in age is special.

We can have nice things again, Spanky! He's a special talent!

Jesus Kasperi Kapanen can fly out there. The Leafs are loaded with elite young talent.

Would like to see Marner on a line with a speedster.... figure he will setup the guy for chance after chance.

The Leafs are budding with talent. (Just for Boxy)

So that's why the call them that!

Kapanen is a very good prospect, but I'd say you're throwing the word 'elite' around a bit too lightly.

Well yeah. That being said this is still one of the best rookie crops in NHL history.
