This is a great spot for Bedard. GM cleaned house, there's really nobody left from the glory days... Kane was traded(their last #1 overall pick), Toews wont be offered a new contract according to the new GM. Gm has enough picks to restock pretty quick or use in trade... Bedard is going to be able to go in and be the cornerstone right from the get go and be surrounded with other young players on the way up in a market that reveres great players in any sport.

Bedard is a huge Canucks fan. He literally grew up watching his favourite team battle the Shithawks. Plus the whole incident with Kyle Beach and management and players apparently knowing about it really stains their franchise. Google Blackhawks scandals or something like that if you want to read about it. They should have been punished a lot more severely but Bettman is a slimy f*** that works for the owners 100%.

Blackhawks are an abomination for what they allowed to happen. Everyone tried to sweep this under the rug, even Bettman. A couple of investigative journalists were the only ones who wouldn't let it go and brought it to light.

Yeah these teams suck. Some might say that it's good for the NHL to have the expansion teams still in it along with multiple southern franchises that have struggled historically but...

 

I dunno.

 

Feels pretty stupid.

I don’t know. Florida and Carolina are pretty legit teams with fun rosters.

Would the league be open to the Leafs releasing all of its current players and having an expansion draft to rebuild the team?

It is fun to have all the old school "you got to have experience and goaltending that has been there before in the playoffs" have nothing to say. But yes, having so few known commodities sucks for the playoff watchers.

Leafs getting torn apart in open ice but have been fantastic at protecting the net. Feels like the Panthers should have scored 3 or 4 times already.
