I mean let’s f***ing face it, 34,16,88,91 & 44 are all this team has in “somewhat” talent and takes up a s*** ton of our cap. Ugh so frustrating i tell ya! No frigging depth outside those players.

Just awful drafting.

yeah they have been completely inept for a few years now at filling out the team with 3rd and 4th liners and merely competent depth defensemen.

look at the age of their defense past Reilly (28) and Sandin (22):

Holl 30

Brodie 32

Giordano 39

Muzzin 33

I think Sandin is 5th in ice time too so the playing time skews old.

That is pretty terrifying and stinks of a series of desperation moves from an org that has not been able to develop talent. Compare to the ages of a team that always seems to somehow remain good, Boston:

McAvoy 24

Lindholm 28

Carlo 25

Clifton 27

Grzelcyk 28

Forbort 30

Stralman 36

McAvoy + Clifton + Carlo + Grzelcyk = four home grown defenseman in the regular rotation and 28 years old or less....

They have the same problem at forward. They haven't been able to develop anything except maybe Robertson, so they're paper thin after their top-6. Bunting and Robertson are top-6 forwards for them, and might be playing above their talent level, and the bottom 6 is Kerfoot, Kampf, Jarnkrok, Malgin, Engvall, Aston-Reese, and Aube-Kubel.

They might not actually be a good team.

And on top of that some of their actually good players are one way guys. And their goaltending is never great.

Its over for keefe and dubas.

It's starting to look that way. They look like the exact same team that got Babcock fired 3 years ago.

Man I hate the Oilers so bad but it must be so nice to have two stars like Leon and Connor, another 9 point night between the two tonight.

You mean like Matthews and Marner?

I’m just stirring the pot here boys. It just feels like Leon and Connor put up 3-5 points a night all the time while u look at Mitch and Auston might grab 1-2 if lucky. I dunno, I’m still so frustrated I guess. Let’s hope they haul their s*** together starting tonight. LgL

McDavid is a tier above Matthews and Draisaitl is a tier above Marner.

Stars be stars, they weren't? I mean Matthews won the Hart, lol. I believe that's a star playing like a star.

Last year Matthews was other worldly. There's no denying that. He and Mitch have not had "it" this season so far. No denying that either. The Edmonton guys have. Nothing nefarious in that assessment.

Not all stars are created equal.

It's like Trout vs Judge

Judge can have a 10 WAR season too but Trout is still just way better at baseball

He's got 8 points in 10 games, it's not dire, and I'm sure we're all waiting on this team to play better, Leaf fans that is.

Very slow start and it's still a SSS, but his production is almost half of what it was last year.
