Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 Love to see Milano He's pretty terrible, not the kind of guy you want for a playoff push. Some speed and flash to his game but zero substance. You would get more out of giving some hungry young grinder his shot.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 So Mete, Benn and Jarnkrok in two days and the Leafs are officially out of money. Somebody gotta move via the trade market. Who’s ur bets on? Hope for Holl first. Mete and Benn are league minimum salaries. They're depth guys that will be on the Marlies unless a. There aren't injuries that force one or both up here, and b. They get claimed off waivers. The Leafs currently have money for one of Sandin or Engvall. No doubt they want them both back. I don't see them having too much trouble clearing up cap space (Holl, Kerfoot, Muzzin are the most likely names). Holl seems the most likely if they are just looking to dump and not bring anyone new in. If Kerfoot or Muzzin are involved then they're going to be looking to add a meaningful piece I would think. Probably a forward. Just my thoughts.

BTS Community Moderator Posted July 21, 2022 Posted July 21, 2022 Imagine being a Flame fan right now? Damn!!! What is even going on? They just had like 110 points and basically everyone on the roster had career high numbers.
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 21, 2022 Posted July 21, 2022 It's Calgary and they are American players. I completely get it.
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 21, 2022 Posted July 21, 2022 Toronto and Vancouver and for many Montreal can compete with the USA locations for non Canadian talent retention but the other Canadian teams have no chance and the political climate is making it worse and worse.

Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2022 Posted July 23, 2022 Tkachuk To the Panthers. No info tho.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2022 Posted July 23, 2022 Wow Huberdeau back to the Flames. And Weegar! And a 1st!
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2022 Posted July 23, 2022 Tkachuk To the Panthers. No info tho. Huberdeau, Wegar part of the package.
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2022 Posted July 23, 2022 Now that’s a good f***ing blockbuster!!

P2F Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2022 Posted July 23, 2022 Amazing return out of a s***** situation. Agreed, it's pretty incredible. The worst part to come out of this whole debacle is that my Tkachuk jersey is now obsolete.
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 23, 2022 Posted July 23, 2022 Am I missing something? Why was Tkachuk massively more valuable than Hiberdeau?
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2022 Posted July 23, 2022 Calgary made out like bandits Didn’t they. If I were a Flames fan I’d be hyped.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2022 Posted July 23, 2022 f***, he just had to go to Florida.
JG34 Verified Member Posted July 23, 2022 Posted July 23, 2022 Am I missing something? Why was Tkachuk massively more valuable than Hiberdeau? I’m guessing Huberdeau made it be known he’d be testing the market in FA after this coming season. Tkachuk is 5 years younger too, immediately signed an 8 year extension.

P2F Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2022 Posted August 5, 2022 Flames officially win the trade - Huberdeau just signed for 8/84.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 5, 2022 Posted August 5, 2022 Flames officially win the trade - Huberdeau just signed for 8/84. Great for them - they got a better player than Tkachuk, + other assets. It's a shame they didn't trade Gaudreau last offseason like they did this year with Tkachuk.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2022 Posted August 5, 2022 That contract won't age well. But they had little choice. Huberdeau walking wasn't an option for them. They'd be a laughing stock.

It's a shame they didn't trade Gaudreau last offseason like they did this year with Tkachuk. There really wasn't a concrete indication that Gaudreau wasn't going to resign with the club. He certainly wouldn't have commanded the type of return the Tkachuk did given the down season(s) leading up to 2021 and far more advanced age.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 18, 2022 Posted August 18, 2022 Kadri to the Flames. They actually look really good this year.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2022 Posted August 18, 2022 Kadri to the Flames. They actually look really good this year. I knew he was going there, everyone didn't think so.
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2022 Posted August 18, 2022 Kadri to the Flames. They actually look really good this year. They release the $ yet? I wonder if he'll regress back to a 50-60 point player now that he got paid.
