Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2019 Posted June 29, 2019 Nice. Next up: Marner. Looks like Marner is pulling a Nylander.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2019 Posted June 29, 2019 Looks like Marner is pulling a Nylander. I don't think Dubas let's that happen again. I think they deal him first.
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 #Coyotes have acquired Phil Kessel, Dane Birks and a 2021 fourth round draft choice from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for Alex Galchenyuk and Pierre-Olivier Joseph.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 Zaitsev and a "sweetener" (rumored to be Connor Brown) to the Sens for Ceci.
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 Zaitsev and a "sweetener" (rumored to be Connor Brown) to the Sens for Ceci. Fuuuuuuuuuck that
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 Fuuuuuuuuuck that If Zaitsev plays like he did in his rookie season you'll like him. If not....LOL!!
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 If Zaitsev plays like he did in his rookie season you'll like him. If not....LOL!! Both of these guys f***ing suck. Only Toronto can non-tender Ceci and Ottawa is locked into Zaitsev long term.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 Both of these guys f***ing suck. Only Toronto can non-tender Ceci and Ottawa is locked into Zaitsev long term. But you're getting a sweetener in the deal too.
King Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Dubas just took Dorion to the cleaners. And somehow Dorion agreed to give a 3rd round pick on top of it.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Leafs sign Spezza. 1 year, League minimum, $700k
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Leafs sign Spezza. 1 year, League minimum, $700k Pretty neat, started his OHL career in Brampton back when you could play for your home team as an underage prior to being drafted - now looks like he'll come full circle.

His faceoff abilities alone are worth the minimum. Anything else he brings is a bonus.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Ceci signed at 4.5 one year deal.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Ceci signed at 4.5 one year deal. Do the Leafs keep him then? He's going to get roasted by the fans. He'll get it worse than Gardiner, similar or worse lows without the same upside.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Leafs sign Spezza. 1 year, League minimum, $700k Pretty much he replaces Marleau at a fraction of the cost. Nice signing.

He'll get it worse than Gardiner, similar or worse lows without the same upside. I'm willing to give him a 1 year tryout. The RHD part helps. He was a 15th overall pick... Yes it was in 2012 but I'm still hoping that some of that pedigree is in him and maybe a change of scenery brings it out. And if not, 1 year is not a huge commitment. By then hopefully Sandin and/or Liljegren are ready.

I believe the have just over 11 M in cap space.

Barkerfan23 Verified Member Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Leafs are so far worst than last year on paper

I know, I read they had just north of 15 million, so signing Ceci makes it a bit tighter is all. Or am I wrong, do you know how much we have left to spend?
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Leafs are so far worst than last year on paper We have to wait until they report for camp in September. They don't even have a full roster yet.

Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Did the Leafs just rape the Avs?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Did the Leafs just rape the Avs? Correct, and the Avs picked up the check.
JG34 Verified Member Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Love this for the Leafs! Kadri was a good player, but after being suspended in the playoffs again I was done with him.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 I like it. Colorado retains 50% of Barrie's $5.5m too.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 I like it. Colorado retains 50% of Barrie's $5.5m too. What a coop of a deal, Dubas backed himself in and out of a situation, wow!
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 Another reason not to be a leaf fan, they add more talent when they need grit. Are there any players on this team who have won a cup and know what it takes?
