Because the last time the Avs had the highest odds of winning the draft lottery (2017) the Devils won it too. So its twice in a row where the Avs held the highest odds and NJ has won 1st overall.

Plus I am still salty about Hall winning the Hart over MacK last year. I mean, I thought Hall was a obvious 2nd. Homer glasses? Probably.

 

Oh well, at least we have 2001 Cup over them.
