Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 Matthews might score 50 even after missing a month. This kid is bonkers.

Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 I would never wish harm on anyone, but karma's a real ****, isn't it, Tom? He'll get suspended.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 He'll get suspended. He didn't
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 Wilson turns his head away at the last millisecond = a dirty blindside? That hit was fine IMO. There was no time to change course.
Laika Community Moderator Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 He'll get suspended. Why the f*** would he? Or should he? - No head contact - Wilson had *just* touched the puck - Wilson put himself in the vulnerable position - It's not even a traditionally vulnerable spot on the ice, where you might expect the hitter to be cautious. It's open ice and Wilson took a weird route to make himself vulnerable and then watched his own pass like an idiot.
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 Just have an adblock up, you'll be fine. http://www.sportshd.me/ Just squash the ads that pop up, you'll be gold, best on the internet, save it for all events, including... PPV Hey Spank, will this work on PS4?

Sometimes the liquor over his brain, too. Plus he probably doesn't really know a ton about hockey aside from clapping like a monkey everytime the Leaves make the red beacon light up.

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 Nylander to make his season debut tomorrow against Detroit.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 Any suggestions on where to sit with my gf for tomorrow night’s Leafs game? Looking to spend between $200 and $250 a piece

King Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2018 Posted December 6, 2018 The Ducks kept Maxime Comtois up (1) game past the threshold to burn a year of his ELC, only to send him back to junior. He will now be eligible to be taken in the expansion draft. This is absolutely unexcusable and no one has even seemed to notice. What the f***!

King Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2018 Posted December 6, 2018 Why can't they protect him, if they own his rights? They have no choice but to protect him now. If they held him back his contract would have slid and he would have been ineligible to be taken.

I initially thought you meant he couldn't be protected. (some rule I wasn't aware of)

It was a weird move but they should be in good shape for this expansion draft either way, won't have veterans with NMC's clogging up their list this time.

It's not even about the expansion draft. Keeping a prospect up 1 game past his limit to burn a year of his ELC only to send him down is just blatantly stupid. If I were a Ducks fan I would be infuriated. I'm infuriated and I'm not even a Ducks fan.

King Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2018 Posted December 6, 2018 I don't know a lot about hockey. Maybe they are expecting to call him back up this year? you can't callup a player from junior unless it's for emergency purposes
Laika Community Moderator Posted December 6, 2018 Posted December 6, 2018 you can't callup a player from junior unless it's for emergency purposes I expected an answer like this. Wow. Quack quack.

I will also point out that burning an ELC year isn't always a negative. There are cases where it has likely helped teams to get a player signed to a more reasonable second contract prior to a breakout in their third full season. I'm not saying it's something you can plan for, but it could very well turn out in the Ducks favor.
King Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2018 Posted December 6, 2018 but it could very well turn out in the Ducks favor. this means nothing when The Process is bad

This is like saying it's good that your rookie SP had TJS in June because he might cost less in arbitration.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2018 Posted December 6, 2018 this means nothing when The Process is bad Was it that bad though? It was certainly the right choice to have him up at the start of the year, the team was missing 6 of it's top 10 forwards and Comtois easily had the highest impact of the rookies/depth guys in their place. At the 9 game mark it would have been tough to send him down, the team was still beat up and Comtois was at nearly a PPG. Then he himself gets hurt, the Ducks get a bunch of bodies back and suddenly the entire outlook is different.
