Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 I can't believe what a fall from grace he's had What's his contract? He's their Ricky Romero He's older than I am... Not really a Ricky comp.
bzapple Verified Member Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 I can't believe what a fall from grace he's had What's his contract? He's their Ricky Romero I wouldn't say that. He's in his mid 30's now and his stuff has just deteriorated. His contract is only a one year deal with a low base (remember that he was a free agent and they only just brought him back in April) so it's no big loss. Kind of funny how much trouble the Tigers are having with assembling a decent bullpen though. It's like all they know how to do is hand out big multi-year contracts, so they can't seem to fill in the smaller pieces on their roster.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Very cool: Colin Kaepernick threw out the first pitch for the Giants last night http://msn.foxsports.com/video/MLB?vid=02fbfcff-cc3b-4130-814b-d14a0d80e7e7&from=foxsports/mlb/stories How many knew this??? Colin was selected by multiple schools for baseball (he was a high school pitcher with a 92 MPH fastball) but only ONE university offered him a football scholarship.
flafson Verified Member Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 It's a known fact actually, he wanted to do both football and baseball, or more accurate he didn't want to pass on the chance of playing football.

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 So tonight we should be pulling for the Twins to beat Cleveland and Detroit to beat Boston... no other really relevant games for the Jays.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Thames was just designated for assignment. To say we won THAT trade by a mile is the understatement of the year.

digiblader Verified Member Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Someone (Houston? Miami? Mets?) will take a flyer on him. He actually was doing well in AAA Tacoma.
digiblader Verified Member Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Relax.. Webster's control problems will hand the Tigers the lead back quickly. He just loaded the bases with no outs and Fielder coming up.
Dr Negative Verified Member Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Seattle is where hitting prospects go to die.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Prince Fielder is a selfish pos. Swung at ball four twice with the bases loaded and no out.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Thank God for Victor Martinez,Grand Salami. 4-2 Tigers
digiblader Verified Member Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 See what I mean? Grand Slam for V-Mart.. and BTW I was at Denny's for a Grand Slam today too..
digiblader Verified Member Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Webster's pitching like Sean Nolin... he shouldn't be up here. No surprise he's getting lit up.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 I hope the Tigers destroy the Sox pen tonight. Webster at 32 pitches after one inning.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Thames' career in jeapordy: - Mariners Designate Eric Thames For Assignment by Max Fogle, Jun 22 at 5:48 PM CST The Mariners have announced that outfielder Eric Thames has been designated for assignment. Gutierrez will replace Michael Morse on the active roster, with Morse landing on the 15-day DL. Thames had yet to appear in the big leagues this season, and owns a career line of .250/.296/.431/ in 684 plate appearances with the Blue Jays and Mariners. The 26-year-old is currently slashing .295/.382/.479 with Triple-A Tacoma.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Austin Jackson RBI single up the middle. 5-2 Tigers, bottom of the fourth.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 If the Tigers get in the playoffs they're going to be so tough with Verlander and Scherzer going 1-2. Tough to match up against that.
Metallijay Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 7-2 tigers nice, hope they beat around the sox. Looks like we gain another game.
