Almonte's one of those guys that Yankees fans think is a prospect and deserves some hype, but he's just a guy. He'll go 3-30 with a homer and get sent back down.

I know him very well, he's not the big deal, Sierra is a better player by a mile.

The Oakland situation is terrible. The A's get no fans because the park is a dump and is in a bad location. If you like that franchise (and/or baseball's health in general), you should be 100% behind the proposed movement to San Jose. Way better demographics and they'd be able to get a nice new stadium in a central location.

The Giants don't want to give up.

Man I hope San Jose loses, I want Oakland to still have a team

I disagree

I'd rather see them move and thrive

Teams move. It's just happens. Maybe not in your sporting fan lifetime much so far, but it just has to happen sometimes. It's sad for the local fans, yes, whether it me Montreal or Oakland or wherever, but when the situation is this bad it's just better off if the move and a new start happens.

You can still be a fan of the plucky, under funded, but well-run team that will be the San Jose Athletics. I know I will be. :)

I actually like the ballpark, that in itself is historic. The O.Co Collecium, held many great moonshots and great moments, it will be sad to see them ditch the park

Well I did witness Expos to Nats move :P. I just don't like the idea of taking all the things the city won and moving it to another location, acting like nothing has changed

Zack Wheeler strikes out the side in the second, all swinging. Looks really good, maybe the Mets have another ace on their hands.

or #2

None of those guys are that great. Niese is who I'd mention, and they have other good pitching prospects: Syndergaard, Montero, Fulmer, etc. Could be a great rotation, and they're supposed to have the money to sign some hitters.

Wright, Murphy and d'Anaud can hit....Nimmo is a good prospect

Rangers losing to Oakland. Jays will be 4.5 back with an Oakland win.

And we have Tampa within our sights--yet another loss for the struggling Rays. We're only 2 back of Tampa now, and 4.5 back of the Yankees(pending the double-dip tomorrow)

What happened to Tampa? 3-7 in their last 10, and plunging as fast as Texas and NY in the wild card race. Suddenly, Toronto being in the race is looking more of a possibilty.

Impending AL All-Star Jordan Lyles with another masterful outing: 7 IP, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 SO. ERA now down to a microscopic 3.22. Wow.

3.78 FIP which isn't outstanding, but I assume he's on your fantasy team lol. :P

Correction--Jays are only 1.5 back of Tampa now. A good series against Baltimore and we're finally out of the basement.

Any guesses how Tampa is doing so poorly?

Do you think he'll be the Astros AS representative, or perhaps Altuve or Jason Castro?

Should be Castro but might by Lyles or Altuve anyways.

A's win! Jays 4.5 back. With the Jays now in the 5 games or less back area, selling is not an option anymore. Hopefully the US media gets the point that we're not giving up Josh Johnson, Mark Buehrle, etc. anytime soon.

Uhhh.. Domonic Brown, Carlos Gonzalez, and Paul Goldschmidt want to talk to you regarding the NL MVP race. But Carlos Gomez is having a good season. Too bad Milwaukee has a horrid pitching staff...

None of those guys except CarGo are even remotely holding a candle to Gomez.

Gomez has been the best though. .398 wOBA and the best defensive player in the NL by UZR (10.2). I guess the Twins did get a fair return for Johan after all, too bad they couldn't be the ones to enjoy it.

Gómez the best NL player so far.

BTW Fernando Martínez traded to the yankees

It's great that those WC spots are so much closer now

We are probably best off just accepting that Boston will win the division and expect them to beat our division rivals regularly.

Vernon Wells since May 22:

Arbitrary start point noted.

I drafted Harvey in one of my other fantasy leagues and picked up Wheeler before this start... I hope so :P

Wheeler did indeed look really good. He certainly has all the stuff to be an impact starter immediately.
.

That's right. TaiWalker, Bundy, Carlos Martínez and Taillon are next

Damn Orioles continue to rake even on the road against a stellar home team in the Tigers. 25th jack for Davis. Kinda like this O's team can't lie, I was rooting for them in the playoffs last year. Looks like the AL East is once again the toughest division in baseball.

Orioles and Yankees both have afternoon games and both are winning. :(

Though Dodgers have bases loaded against Kuroda right now...
