  1. Have you been to Home Plate On the Trail diner across from the ballpark? I go there every time before a ST game. I've seen Buck, Tabby, and Hazel there on several occasions. We usually stay in Clearwater Beach next door to Dunedin. Wish I was going this year now, spring training is so close!
  2. Time to build a statue of him outside the RC. Or switch his dad's out for him.🤣 Fans Should Cut Ed Some Slack It's pretty crazy especially when you consider the exchange rate.
  3. Rogers has really stepped it up the last few years
  4. Orioles turning into Tampa before our eyes?
  5. I don't think anyone can be upset with the Jays spending big money. It's awesome that Rogers has joined the big boys club. The only person who should be upset is Ed Rogers for having to pay a lot more to compete this year. Fans though, should be ecstatic. It's just too bad the front office couldn't have supplemented this roster more through drafting and development. A 280 million payroll should project as a World Series favorite, not a borderline playoff team. We're lucky Rogers is willing to spend whatever it takes to try and get this team back into the playoffs. If we don't make a playoff run this year and Ross and Mark aren't brought back, I hope the next front office is given the same amount of resources going forward. In the meantime, I'm pumped for 2025, It should be a very exciting season. Hopefully it results in a deep playoff run.
  6. Didn't he attack Manoah for his strikeout reactions back when Alec was a stud? Meanwhile he pimps homeruns so he's a hypocrite. Also, he allegedly filmed and posted an assault on a 17 year old girl when he was a Dodgers prospect: https://www.pinstripealley.com/2023/12/8/23990942/alex-verdugo-trade-yankees-troubled-history-red-sox-dodgers-prospect Never like Verdugo.
  7. Love the changes you've made Brock! The articles are nice and especially the changes to the forum moderation standards that have led to less bullying/attacks by certain posters who used to get away with a lot on the old site, and would end up chasing off new board members who didn't share their same opinions. Credit also goes out to the posters who have adapted to this and no longer pick on others. Much more welcoming to everyone. I am planning to donate to the board as a result of this.
  8. Only had to spend close to 300 million. They'd better contend or Ross and Mark are done for.
  9. I definitely was around (fan since 1986) when Labatt owned the team and we had the highest payroll at around 45 million. Up to this point, Rogers has never shown any sign they'd run a top 3 payroll so this is a massive surprise to me.
  10. Losing to the Dodgers in the WS would be like, an amazing season. I'm not worried about the Dodgers
  11. So what's our payroll at now? Wasn't it 267 mill before this? Are we at 282 mill? If so it looks like we're going above 300 million and into the 3rd tax threshold if we add another bat. And we'd better sign another bat, otherwise we're spending 282 and into 2nd threshold for a borderline wild card contender. Wow. Just wow. Never thought I'd live to see the Jays spend like drunken sailors. I think we lose a pic if we go to the third threshold but what are these guys going to do with that anyways? Might as well just sign established free agents because drafting and development isn't there. Do Ross and Mark have Ed Rogers pee pee tapes or something? Whatever it is, I like it as long as we are going to maintain a high payroll like this. Fantastic news. Maybe we can extend Vlad to a mega contract that has a lower value for 2025 to get us under one of the thresholds?
  12. Now that we have hindsight of seeing both contracts I agree with you. They should put up similar power numbers - Teo has a bit more OBP, but Santander is cheaper and also a switch hitter who hits the same from both sides. Fills a bigger need for our lineup.
  13. Egg on my face, I didn't realize his OBP was that low! Apologies :)
  14. Why do you think Clement is going to OBP .280?
  15. Thanks for the compliment! Obviously because he gambled and lost on Sasaki. You seem pretty smart yourself, so I'm surprised you're having trouble coping with having the worst GM in MLB run your team.
  16. I agree. That's why I said if they both leave its just Santander if they don't do anything else.
  17. If they somehow turned Beta Ross into Alpha Ross that would be a miracle
  18. 5 years 92 million is a pretty good price if he keeps hitting like he has. However if we don't add another starter, sign Vlad and one more bat its just delaying the inevitable rebuild. Its a good start, but if Vlad and Bo leave after this year its going to be a team built around Santander? Gotta keep adding. I bet Ross had very little to do with this signing, as it makes too much sense. Hopefully he's already been hand cuffed. I wouldn't be surprised if this was all Click.
  19. Very well said. This is MLB. There are only 30 GMs. You're supposed to be one of the best in the world at this stuff. Yet Ross is out there making moves that a 10 year old fan knows are stupid.
  20. I'm sure it is, but you'll still keep try to find one.
  21. This is such a terrible take.
  22. No.. Ross Atkins is at home currently weighing the pros and cons of how many slices of ham to put on his sandwich. The ham will ultimately spoil with no sandwich being eaten.
