  1. Oh yeah my mistake. It was Chris young. And regarding players imploding and it not being the mangers fault I will just agree to disagree. Thanks for the replies though.
  2. I think the mentality of hiring first time coaches for big time payrolls isn’t a sound one. Thus, hiring bochy would have been a significantly smarter move for this team. Who knows maybe it’s us standing atop the mountain this year. I give Daniel’s credit for the moves he made in Texas and bochy was another shrewd one.
  3. It seems with that baseball American ranking that the jays are closer to middle of the pack after being near the bottom of most other popular traditional metric rankings of minor league teams. This is a trend up but it could also suggest the jays could capitalize on their upward momentum by identifying better minor league coaches. lets emulate the dodgers if we can. We have the budget and the facilities.
  4. This team really lost momentum when they let Alex Anthopoulous go. AA said you win with power and pitching. Jays traded their power and didn’t replace it. The pitching was great but a lot of good it is to hold a team to 5 runs in 18 innings when you score one time. We saw it all year. All the double plays. All the lack of an ability to hit good pitching. The lack of power. The approach was miserable and the team regressed offensively. And the abhorrent baserunning. Too many problems with this team. Brandon Hyde for Baltimore has his guys playing hard every AB offense and defence. That why those guys, when able to graduate talent , gelled. Their culture is far superior. When have the jays won the Al east 2015? We had power and good pitching. Leaving yourself to the vulnerable wildcard best of two is a precarious way to live. Baserunning and the hitting philosophy needs to improve. We need our power back. Meanwhile AA has a ws ring, orchestrated our best showing in the playoffs since 93 in 2016/2017 and has the arguable best team in the game looking like they are going on another deep run. Shapiro hasn’t won anything but somehow he’s gonna lead this team to the promise land as president? Atkins has shown his hand to be very middling with his moves. Decent fA signings at starting pitcher. But he hasn’t really won many trades. Merrifield? Hicks? Varshow? Berrios? Atkins goes, Schneider goes, Martinez goes, belt goes, Kk goes, hicks goes , ryu goes, Chapman goes. The first two may not happen but the team is gonna look mighty different next year sadly this years great pitching and good defence is marred.
  5. Man the more I think about it while watching replays, I dislike vladdys self control. Sure he hits a lead off double. But that display of emotion just fires up the pitcher who looked way more pumped as he got out of the jam. Like your hit was meaningless in the end. Save your emotions for when it’s an obvious momentum swinging play. Like when you score or you take a lead. I think his gesturing as vociferously as he did had the inverse impact on the pitched. Instead of firing his team up he out a chip in the shoulder of the pitcher who ultimately showed he was a bigger bull dog than any of the weak follow up hitters. Sigh I’m just really disappointed in vladdy not being clutch, not being a better leader and being a brain dead base runner . I know he’s 24 but someone needs to take him aside and get him to reflect on his body language at times. My vent two cents.
  6. A rookie Right handed hitter as well. Gaus stinks up the joint
  7. Disappointing. Jays 1 Royce Lewis 3. Sorry sack of offensive contributors again. Jays can’t give gausman run support. We can’t hit good pitching. And gaus is owned by the twins.
  8. They must have gausman tipping. He looks so bad against this line up
  9. This ump crew are pinstripe jock suckers. So many friendly calls for these bums. And yes for the first time in a long time the yanks, outside of kin/Cole/judge/Torres, are bums.
  10. This team of hitters has no heart nor solid approach. No one grinding at bats. Pretty pathetic. 80 pitches through seven innings? Cole must be laughing to himself.
  11. John Scneider gotta go too. Putting your 200 million dollar team in the control of a Rookie manager is bad administration. This guy is the worst strategist I have seen donning the blue and white. What a disaster this guy has been.
  12. These guys are so inert vs good pitching. Coming down to the wire and they are getting one hit after last nights shut out. Sigh.
  13. Saw the graphic. In September they are hitting 274 on the road vs 194 at home. 70 ish runs for 34 runs at home. What is it with these guys? Is it the batters eye? Personally I’m happy to have Guillermo Gtfo
  14. What are the hitting at home vs on the road splits? These guys can’t be this bad due to the new Renos. Why do they just curl up and die at home?
  15. This can’t be real. Romano just isn’t dialed in right now.
  16. This umpire and those like him are the reason jays hitters have regressed and not blossomed into perennial offensive threats. These hacks mess with their batting vision. Happened to vladdy, and now to babe. God these things make me over react sure but that high one to Varshow and the strike three to Vlad with the bases loaded were super bad.
  17. Nasty stuff from King. KKKKKKKKKing
  18. King pitches well inside to rh hitters. It’s a lost art these days. And that two seamer of his is really moving.
  19. This ump has a pretty generous strike zone low and low and outside. Boys gotta adjust. Way to go KK.
  20. Yeah this ump is being pretty generous with the lower portion of the strike zone for KG. Hopefully this clicks for KG and he exploits it.
  21. Aaron Boone looks so exhausted and stressed. Like get some sleep man. Sheesh it must be hell being the yankee manager at times. I’m sure his neighbors let him hear it.
  22. This King kid looks legit. And I think Stanton beats Kirk in a foot race.
  23. Any updates on Danny and Brandon returns? Regarding Eden, those SB numbers make me salivate. Who’s our fastest base threat this year? Whit? It’s not pretty and hasn’t been for sometime. Mind you Eden will probably get late inning replacement opportunities but I’m here for his speed. Congratulations
  24. Chappy! Wow well done bro … nice game from the jays. Nail biter but sweep!!
