I will state the obvious truth. Both extreme sides of the vaccine issue are stupid.
Why people who are not vaccinated are stupid:
1- They should have gotten vaccinated at the beginning when COVID did not have major variants. It actually helped slow the spread of the disease back then. Had they gotten vaccinated, who knows how many lives would have been saved.
2- Their reasons and "research" are f***ing idiotic. I feel dumber every time I read "experimental gene therapy", "I know someone who got sick from the vaccine", blah blah blah. Learn some f***ing biology and statistics for the love of god.
Why people harping about people not getting vaccinated are stupid:
1- At this point, the vaccines are not very effective at limiting the spread of the different variants. This means the herd immunity ship has sailed, and all vaccines do is provide much higher chance of survival from COVID. So not getting vaccinated today has little to no impact on communities. COVID will be around regardless of people getting vaccinated or not.
2- New variants cause milder disease. Hospitals are much better equipped to handle COVID patients, and are no longer over-stressed because of COVID. So not getting vaccinated, for the most part, hurts nobody except the individual choosing not to get the vaccine.
Both points above indicate that getting COVID vaccines has really become a personal choice because it mostly protects the individual from severe symptoms at this point, and does not prevent mild illness or the spread of the virus to people around them.
