  1. They may as well be. Boone is a great manager because Yankees pitching dev and evaluation is elite. A trained f***ing chimp would make the playoffs every year. That front office is insanely good. Can Charlie or not. Who cares… the front office and development staff is responsible for 95% of your success and failure.
  2. I do know that every yankee fan on Reddit wanted to can Boone last year. He wasn’t getting enough out of the team, bad lineups and bad bullpen usage!!
  3. Maybe… I mean he’s on none of the top 30 prospect lists as far as I know. He has very little pedigree. But guys like that do sometime pan out.
  4. Morale, vibes that kind of thing. They have a say but I don’t think they set the lineup completely on their own any more.
  5. No one said that. I just mean that the minutiae of probably bad pitchers doesn’t really matter that much in the big scheme of things.
  6. Do you think he has full say on that? I kind of doubt it. If we are giving him credit, he wrangled a 91 win season out of some wretched pitching last year.
  7. Honestly, yea. Managers don’t make much difference and he doesn’t do anything I really hate. I doubt he has much say on most things.
  8. I can’t resist this one. They have a pretty renowned pitching dev team and it hasn’t been that long to get these results, There… I didn’t say a thing about us.
  9. You guys are agonizing over the postioning of pitchers, none of whom were on any prospect lists. Castillo is probably not our lord and savior.
  10. Yea, and it doesn’t actually work that often.
  11. Lol it’s like you are complaining that the waiter isn’t bringing the poop soup in fast enough.
  12. You know players aren’t dumb right? They know the pen sucks. They know who put together the pitching. They’ll know Charlie is just getting canned as a scapegoat.
  13. I’m all seriousness, it depends heavily on who we get. This is a good front office with a major weakness. Alot of front offices have like 5 major weaknesses.
  14. I’m available to bitch about our pitching dev at any time. Put me in coach!
  15. You know things are bad when we grab on to pitchers like gage like he’s a life bouy and we are drowning.
  16. Honestly, our injury luck hasn’t been that bad. Don’t teams average something like 11 starting pitchers total per season or something ridiculous.
  17. If he can play corner outfield, I wouldn’t trade him if I think he can contribute. That would be handy to have with teo only having one year left.
  18. Gabriel Martinez is back from injury and homered and doubled first game back today. Dasan Brown.. probably striking out too much but hitting pretty well. Is also apparently a no doubt CF.
  19. Yes! Contention windows are like events that when triggered restrict your choices way down. It’s like an equation where you plug in contracts x,y and z plus player control a, b and c plus playoff odds … and if it spits out ‘ sell the farm baby, you are right in the middle of your hopefully initial window and you can’t afford to miss another playoff in this window’ then you just have to do it. It’s not really a choice. It’s like a f***ing geological process lol. One of the reasons why AA got too much criticism. He made logical choices. Not saying he’s a better GM but he made correct choices given the information imo.
  20. I heard that the As owner owns a supper club in San Fran and has Charlie in playing some mood bongos.
  21. I’m not entirely sure what mortgage the future means or at least I dont understand why it’s a negative thing. Every team mortgages the future but some teams have more to mortgage lol. If we are in a real dogfight for the third wild card spot at the deadline, then they will be heavy buyers. We signed gausman, berrios and springer to big deals. We gave up big assets to get berrios even if they are scuffling now in the twins system. The appropriate response to needing to improve to just make the playoffs with that in mind is to mortgage the future. If we have 90% playoff odds, then we won’t . It’s kind of as simple as that, right? And, if we are like 9 games back at the deadline somehow, we sell guys with short control and relievers. I don’t understand how this isn’t just math.
  22. I think Kikuchi gets two more and then depending on how they go, phantom injury. I don’t see bo getting moved down. I think they should trade Jansen but not sure if they will. What they do at the deadline should come down to where we are at the deadline. If we are in legit dogfight to get in, you unload upper minors prospects to improve the team right now and for next year including orelvis and also Jansen. If we have like 90% odds to get in, make small moves and possibly trade Jansen. If we have mid 90%, I’d want to get super creative and maybe trade Jansen and Teo for upper minors prospects and then trade prospects for a rental hitter or two and other small pitching moves.
  23. Teo right? At the deadline or off-season. I don’t think you need to trade him directly for a LHB but if you could get a leftie with good approach and defensive versatility, and good hit tool, I’d be happy to punt on power. I know that’s a big ask though.
