  1. I’ve given this front office credit for things. I love their international scouting, what they look for in hitters. I’m realizing how that I’ve been way to quick to judge on that. Those might have been holdovers from the old regime. How could I give them credit for anything after only 7 years? This is all nonsense. It doesn’t take that long to get really good at pitch dev because other teams have done it in less time. It might be true that we are getting better really slowly behind the scenes and it’s yet to percolate up, but again other teams have done that without having to wait this long. Wait and see only lasts so long. We are good at some things and we are bad at some things, and the things we are bad at can be kind of crucial. We’ll still probably make the playoffs and anyone who can make the playoffs can win. It just means we have to burn more assets and have shorter windows than the smartest teams. That’s fine. We aren’t Arizona or something. I don’t get why we have to pretend otherwise and give this FO so much benefit of the doubt AND full credit for the things they do well.
  2. I would absolutely trade gurriel or teo but more because of control than anything. I think teo is the one because gurriel is so cheap. Needs to be a good deal though. Best value. Not necessarily just for immediate help in pitching. We can always trade prospects for that. It depends on how bad we are at the deadline though. We might need them.
  3. Big changes need to be made in the front office.
  4. We play in a really tough division and it’s really hard when we just flat suck at the pitching thing. It shouldn’t take this long. There really isn’t any excuse for it other than that we suck at as an organization. I wish seattle was an NL team. I could follow them as well and watch some good pitching. Guys with real f***ing stuff instead of the pathetic pitch to contact ******** that rolls out of our pen every night. It’s embarrassing.
  5. No they aren’t. It’s a f***ing long con.
  6. When is anyone in the media going to ask questions about why our bullpen sucks so f***ing much and teams like seattle can rustle up good pitching in 3 f***ing years. Our front office is not a ‘smart’ front office. They aren’t. They think they are. They aren’t. Let’s start trading s***. Make a playoff team. And then we burn out, we can get a new front office.
  7. The offense slumping can’t happen to this team. We don’t have the pitching for the offense to slump even for a short period of time.
  8. We built a lab!! It takes a long long time to develop this kind of pitching. Seattle changed up their whole pitching dev team way back in … checks notes …. 2019. f***.
  9. Holy s***, Seattle’s pitching. Like, what the f***. I’ve got some intense pen envy right now.
  10. I see everyone has decided the offense sucks even though they’ve been scuffling for like 2 weeks. We went like 12-12 before that scoring 6 runs a game. I still believe in the offense.
  11. I think they tried him as a starter earlier this year?
  12. This guy has insane stuff. Let’s see if he can control it.
  13. Didn’t this happen quite a bit last year but the other way around. Ray would get no run support and then give up a solo or two run home run in the 6th/7th?
  14. Horwitz homered today. So did Dasan Brown. The latter is starting to hit but still strikes out too much. He’s such an athlete that if he ever figures it out…
  15. Oh yea, astros would never in a million years trade controllable pitching when contending. It’s not going to happen.
  16. Prospects yes, major leaguers no. Right? Maybe I’m wrong. Like, I’d bet quite a bit that Houston could get more on the open market for Urquidy than we could for Biggio. In saying that, I think that’s also because teams would think he’s better than his numbers. Like, you can get good rental bats for less than good rental pitching at the deadline.
  17. Yes. Whatever you want the answer is yes.
  18. Oh yea, Moreno would be madness.
  19. True, but I feel like when it comes to position player/ pitcher trades … a pitcher with that level of control and upside would be worth quite a bit more.
  20. This is from memory but he’s a guy that Eno Sarris always seems to like. His stuff+ is like 105 with good location numbers as well I think. I’m not sure why that doesn’t totally translate but I’d buy low on him. Houston aren’t trading him though.
  21. Lol, ok now we are taking it too far.
  22. You never want to do these massive package trades where most everything you are getting kind of sucks. How much for just Urquidy? His underlying stuff numbers have always been good. Moreno is off the table.
  23. Fair enough. Thankfully, we don’t have to make the choice.
