    My guess it would be at minimum 5 years for him. That wouldnt be so bad as he'd be expiring when a lot of our core guys would be up for their big extensions.

    Think he should be our primary 1B and a backup 3B. If in shape, i think he has a better chance there than Biggio imo.

    Considering hes young and has a chance to grow, i think 2B would be the only position he could be a plus defender at. Obviously the sample size is small and who knows how he improves or regresses down the line.

    If we do this, does that mean Biggio at 3rd? Yuck! Or maybe Biggio would be part of a potential trade because I don't see any position he'd be a Plus defender at other than 2B?

    I think the Jays are offering what they perceive to be value deals to all major free agents they're interested in and telling them its first come first serve like the Gausman deal. Then for the players they really really like, they've probably told them to circle back if they have a better offer that Toronto can match or beat, assuming they haven't spent elsewhere already. Personally, I think that would be the best approach to free agency since you have no idea who is really interested in you. Only issue with that approach is you could get stuck with a Morales deal early in free agency and then later find out there were better players available for the same money. So let's hope we only commit unless we deem the player to be one of the best availablr at their positions in the market.

    I feel a Springer signing would make a Lindor trade easier since we could trade Gurriel or Teo without hurting our lineup. It just makes too much sense but obviously there has to be genuine interest on both ends.

    Ya i prefer the host crap on idiots if their takes are bad. Sometimes he'd overdo it but I'd prefer that than the typical "yes men" your hear on tv/radio

    Today was the first day I got upset at us being interested in someone because it's making my expectations feel unrealistic. It's to the point where ill be pissed if we don't get some combination of Springer, Lindor and Paxson lol.

    I would be so pissed seeing Happ in our rotation to start the season. And its gotten to the point where I've started tuning out the "jays are interested in ..." headlines. Lets get some players return the favour lol

    Lets see how Atkins handles the next year or two, which will determine his legacy here. I'm a big fan of AA so it took me a long time to become content with Atkins but hes definitely trending in a good spot.

    I was just pointing out a possible issue with how he looks. If he's losing weight that fast, he's probably on a cardio only workout. We'll see the final product soon enough and hope there's some muscle definition there lol.

    These guys sometimes just workout with other friends and are so focused on only getting to a particular weight. He might think his job is done after shedding the pounds but its really not. He better hit the bench press too. We'll know this by how Vladdy's body looks come spring training. If you follow the NBA, you'd know guys like Kevin Love have lost weight without putting strength back on. It completely changes your game and sometimes its for the worse. Also had a buddy who did the same. Some people are fine with doing cardio but cannot be pushed to do weights.

    Hope he doesn't just lose the weight because he'll just become weaker. There better be some weights as part of this plan.

    So much crap has happened over the past week in the NBA that it makes my head hurt. Luckily with the shutdown coming again, I'll have nothing but time to figure it out. Theres still Harden, Westbrook, Wall and others that will probably get traded soon.
