  1. I wouldn't say need but more so want after seeing how effective the lineup was when we were fully healthy. It was damn near dominant and covered up a lot of issues with our crappy bullpen. The lineup you posted makes me sad after seeing last year's lineup. We just spent 12M a year on a 5th starter when that money should have been used for a 3B if the lineup you posted is indeed our opening day lineup. I'm more happy with Pearson/Stripling fighting for the 5th spot than I am seeing Espinal/Smith fight for the 3B spot.
  2. Villar would be fine if we were looking to replace Espinal or maybe even Biggio but definitely not a player of Semien's calibre. Hope this interest is because of a potential move for Ramirez where we'd need a 2B or a backup utility infielder.
  3. After suffering from home field disadvantage for the past 2 seasons, I'm OK from taking advantage of people who still believe in Facebook posts as concrete news.
  4. The Jays need to adequately replace Semien. Bryant/Story/Chapman/Ramirez are the calibre of players we need, not a Villar type. That and one more good bullpen arm and we are set to win the world series!
  5. If Villar is our Semien replacement, this will be a depressing offseason.
  6. I'm OK with this as long as it doesn't take away from our 3B budget. Replacing Semien should be top priority over replacing Matz.
  7. How many elite bullpen arms do the White Sox need. Give us one of them man
  8. Someone tell me how to think about this?
  9. Agreed with most of this. I was very negative on Biggios ability to play 3B full time. He may have brought his defensive woes to the plate like Vladdy the year before because he's definitely not as bad as he looked last year. Biggio at 2B full-time with Espinal as the backup 3B/SS/2B works for me too. Let's find a good starting 3B though.
  10. No shifts kicks in 2023 doesn't it?
  11. Did you forget his noodle arm in the OF? I'd rather not waste a roster spot on a guy who is pretty much a DH since he doesn't bat well enough to be just that.
  12. Considering papa is loaded himself, I'm sure it was easy to spend everyone on that lol
  13. Im only going to speak on players i actually saw play so ill say Halladay/Delgado/Bautista/Alomar. Shout out to Edwin and Donaldson. I didn't see Stieb or anyone before that.
  14. Villar left on pretty bad terms. Highly doubt he's good enough to warrant a return.
  15. I remember I was making these comments prior to last season and was being roasted because of his previous WAR lol. Biggio in a platoon at 2B or 10th man is the perfect spot for him.
  16. And once you get used to 12 in a few years, you'll be good with 14 lol.
  17. Ramirez will be a free agent in 2 years and i doubt we will be able to afford him with all the other guys being paid or needing to be paid by then? I'd prefer to save the prospect capital and just spend money on Bryant now so it won't matter if he leaves us in 3/4 years.
  18. This offseason is boring. It's already been 4 minutes and no signings yet...
  19. Woooooo I'm back baby. Thanks for holding down the fort. Next few weeks will be so excited with all the free agent moves/trades.
  20. Agree with the "f*** the players" notion. To continue the lockout on such minor details at this point is pathetic. f*** them and I hope they get screwed very hard now.
  21. Expecting this to get done by tonight if those are the differences. Only ego can prevent this from getting done at this stage.
  22. If Apple TV is your guys biggest problem then we're in a good spot. Let's get this s*** going, we will have one big free agent move or trade to make!!
  23. God bless all of you who are still staying active here during these times. It does separate the truly hardcore from the rest. See yall once there's a deal lol.
  24. Man... being so far apart when the game is pretty healthy overall just seems stupid from the fans perspective. You'd get it if one side was losing a lot more than the other but both sides seem to be doing pretty well overall. Instead theyre both going to the other extreme without budging much. I get that's how negotiations work sometimes but just hurry it up and meet in the middle already.
  25. Sign me up if it means we can get Bauer at a discount. If he didn't break any laws here, I don't care too much. Of course no jokes are off-limits though lol.
