  1. Dude, I don't give a crap about AAA numbers. Most players in the majors raked in the minors, which is why they're even in the majors. It's all about how they perform in the major league level. Based on that, Kirk is just as likely to be an average hitter as he is an above average one. Now I don't want this to be misconstrued because I do have faith Kirk is a good hitter but he does not have a track record in the majors to be super confident one way or another. Also, I hate that he's a fat f*** who clogs the bases and needs more rest than the average player because of his body even though he's in his early 20s lol.
  2. We've already fapped to Baltimore in the ownership change thread but they are going to own the AL East for years to come.
  3. You make it sound like Kirk is some 10 year vet with a vast history of being good to great. He's been crap/average as much as he's been good/great. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle. This doesn't even include the fact he lost all his power apparently and clogs the bases even when he does get on base. Think most would agree that we are still missing at least 1 elite bat at the top of the order to move everyone down a peg where they belong.
  4. People said the same thing about Berrios and were crying about him. A stud prospect who had a stud like year is allowed one bad season. The whole premise of our offseason currently is that our entire batting lineup will bounce back but Manoah won't. Just think it's foolish but we'll find out soon enough.
  5. Dear God... you sound like Trudeau. Just answer the damn question man loll
  6. Manoah will bounce back just like Berrios did last year. He might not be an ace but he should be a solid SP3 or so. He shouldn't have as many haters as he does, especially from Blue Jays fans.
  7. I would agree with the Vlad hate if he were in the middle of a massive extension that's wasting a lot of organizational assets. The truth is that we've had him during his most affordable years and any blame on the team underperforming needs to be mostly on Shatkins. It's extremely weird to have so many offensive players underperform at the same time. It's to the point that you feel it's an organizational/strategy issue where most guys cant follow through with whatever they're preaching. It's hard to know one way or another from the outside but in the end, this is a results based industry. Most people don't give a f*** to hear about excuses. We just care about wins and losses. Let's Go Blue Jays!
  8. Hope you're right man because i dont see it currently. The only guy I truly expect a big bounce back from is Vlad.
  9. Top 10 out of 15 teams in the AL right? Lol We need to be comparing ourselves to the playoff teams and see where our offense ranks in comparison to them. We got the pitching, defense and bullpen to compete but the offense will hold us back again. It is far too weak when ONLY looking at the contenders.
  10. So when we can start our yearly Jose Ramirez rumours? He is the perfect fit and solves almost every problem we have currently lol.
  11. LOL I cant believe you just made this comment. Take a break from the numbers and use some actual baseball logic sir. Answer should be self-evident as to why majority of teams prefer lineup balance...
  12. Going forward, if Baltimore gets the resources that the Braves get then hell ya, they can be the next Houston Astros. No one will ever be the Dodgers in terms of resources. My point was that the Orioles already have a great young team in the majors with a very good farm system still. They have just needed some spending on vets to certify their World Series chances. Like I said, thank God the schedules have been balanced lol.
  13. I enjoy that you're a glass half full guy. It balances me being a glass half empty guy lol. Also you might want to recheck your numbers... 99-196 wRC+ is quite the range for Varsho lol. And if you look at each of the players alone, they aren't as bad because they'd all be batting 8th/9th in most good lineups. Then you realize that all those guys and IFK will be taking majority of their ABs on the same team is when some begin to panic lol.
  14. Ya I don't think most will hold it against this front office to not dish out dumb contracts to yoyo players. It's more about capitalizing in the Vladdy/Bo window which is shrinking and pretty much up after this season. If we fail this upcoming season, there's a reasonable chance we might have to trade Bo/Vlad and enter a semi-rebuild. If we end up re-signing them then that means we need to trade away other players, which would make us worse.
  15. f***ing hell... like many have already said, this is horrible news for us. Baltimore is probably in the best position in baseball or top 3 at least for sustained winning. Now they've taken care of the only thing that was in their way. Get ready for a dynasty folks.
  16. Exactly this. Our biggest issue without question was offense this past season and so far we spent 49M on KK, IFK, Green, Rodriguez and Turner. I have no issues with Green and don't know enough about Rodriguez to form a good opinion but spending 31M on the remaining guys when the clear need was offense is disheartening. I have no clue how we're going to score any runs when the bottom half of the lineup is absolutely putrid.
  17. They were horrible entertainment last year and they've gotten worse offensively this offseason. Gonna be hoping for a lot of 2-1 wins this year lol
  18. RF Springer SS Bo 1B Vlad DH Turner C Kirk/Jansen LF Varsho 2B Biggio/Schneider 3B IFK CF KK Holy s*** I wanted to puke typing this lineup out. Please for the love of God get one more impact bat. That might be the worst bottom 4 from all teams trying to get into the playoffs. Not only does the lineup suck, it has 0 balance since all our lefties suck lol.
  19. Ya I agree if it's on the contracts THEY want but the fact it's almost Feb and they're unsigned makes me think their contracts won't look as bad as we all thought. Bellinger would be ideal simply because he's a left handed bat who can bat 3rd for us and provides plus defense.
  20. Maybe he can but it was embarrassing watching him at the plate last year. I truly hope he can turn it around because he seems like a great teammate/hard worker. I'm just basing this on what I've actually seen. This team still needs to add one more legit bat at 3B/LF. The offense currently won't allow the Jays to be legit World Series contenders.
  21. Clearly has to be Bellinger/Chapman on a signing front. Seeing Varsho and IFK scheduled to be full time starters at 3B/LF is a disaster offensively with very little upside.
  22. If this is our biggest signing in the offseason, you'll get a lot of upset people. If we can still add a better player than Turner, fans will be happy.
  23. Let's trade our highest potential offensive player for a team that desperately needs it? While Vlad has been disappointing the past few years, there are plenty of other problems on this roster.
  24. Good luck winning the Arb hearing now. Vlad - "I'd like to present evidence number 1, MLB The Show Cover Athlete." Case closed.
  25. For a bunch of people who live and die on analytics, please go check Turner's defensive numbers. He's not going to get better at age 39. He's pretty much a full time DH who will hurt you defensively when he's forced out there. I am extremely underwhelmed at this signing. I don't hate it but I definitely don't love it. Going from Ohtani/Soto/Yamamoto to IFK/Turner/KK lol. This team still needs to add one more impact bat to the lineup. You cant have IFK and Varsho getting that many AB's playing 3B/LF.
